Understanding the Playbook

I’m not a sports fanatic and from what I know is every team has their own playbook. Coaches keep that confidential, while other coaches would like to know what’s in it. They want to understand where the other team is coming from so they can counter their plays and win the game.

The name of the game is to “WIN”.

The game of politics has pretty much the same goal, get the votes to win.

What I fail to understand is why political parties “over use” their playbook?

Years ago Donald Trump made it known in his business organization that publicity (good or bad) is publicity that has people talking about him and is publicity he doesn’t have to pay for it.

In politics Trump made Make America Great Again (MAGA) his mantra and America First his patriotic slogan. Instead of excluding voters, he encouraged them. Trump became a threat to Democratic politics as usual, where it was all about power over people.

Also years ago a man named Saul Alinsky wrote a book for radicals in which he gave steps to take to basically take down an organization, corporation or anyone who disagrees. The premise of his book was to identify, isolate and target someone using their words, or lacking that making stuff up. When others come forward to help, they become targets too and truth has nothing to do with it.

The Democratic political machine saw Donald Trump as an immediate threat and responded accordingly using the Alinsky playbook. In essence they attempted to change the outcome of the 2016 election and upon the inauguration of newly elected President Trump their efforts were that of an insurrection or coup to take down the sitting President of the United States.

Many congressional Democrats boycotted the inauguration, made public threats against the President, his family and his administration and took action to discredit newly appointed Trump cabinet members. Going further there were allegations of sexual misconduct, presidential misconduct resulting in two impeachments all based on false information.

There were allegations of election fraud which was contested by President Trump and led to the J6 allegation of insurrection (Trump tried to take down the duly elected head of state = Himself) before the certification of Electoral College ballots had been announced before the required joint session of Congress.

There were efforts by House Democrats to strip all rights and privileges of a former president from Trump after he left office. Then came the allegations of classified documents held by former President Trump which led to a massive and televised FBI raid of Mar Largo to “recover” those classified documents, and the subsequent first of its kind ever, ongoing investigation and publicly televised trial of a former president (Trump) during the 2023 campaign season prior to the upcoming 2024 Election in an attempt to prevent Trump’s bid for another term as President.

Strategies are meant to outdo the other side, but once your playbook has been “over used” or compromised its time to change it or switch playbooks. Alinsky said that you must have fun but “not over use” his tactics or they lose their effectiveness and your people lose interest.

What I see happening is people are seeing past the obvious gas lighting of America and democrats and republicans are separating themselves from the mainstream party lines as they begin thinking for themselves and see this trial simply as a political stunt.

There are barriers being erected around the courthouse before former President Trump makes his appearance in court as the trial is set to begin.

It makes me wonder why no barriers were erected around the Capital building prior to J6, was not President Trump’s prior authorization to Congressional leaders to activate National Guard troops taken seriously?

Why was the only casualty on J6 an unarmed and petite female named Ashlee Babbitt?

There are so many unanswered questions as to the political motives of everything our elected officials on both sides of the isle have done over the past 6+ years that we have not gotten answers to. Why? – RTM
