Transforming the Democratic Party
Vice President Kamala Harris’s epic loss to President Donald Trump in the 2024 Presidential Election has a lot of people scratching their heads as they wonder “How is it possible that Kamala lost”? Unlike professional athletes and sports teams after a game discussing winners and losers and how they can up their game to afford a different outcome, democrats simply point their fingers at everyone else.
What had been the party of the working man took a hard left to become the counter of the mega elite (pun intended) by soliciting mega donors who willingly handed over $B of their hardly earned dollars to appease the extremist fringe groups on the left and leaving the working man wondering what happened?
There are many outspoken democrats who have said the Democratic Party needs a new branding, a “do-over” in order to focus on what’s important to ordinary hard working Americans who have lost faith in the party.
The DNC convention of 2024 was a time of merry making and celebrating. President Joe Biden had once again been chosen overwhelmingly by the party delegates as the one man who could beat Donald Trump.
It seemed that the world was Biden’s oyster, yet it turned out to be a tough nut to crack.
During the Presidential Debate between Biden and Trump onlookers were shocked to see the mental state of their “Chosen One” and Democratic Party leaders panicked. Then just like Biden’s hasty retreat from Afghanistan, pressure was mounted on Biden to drop his bid for re-election. His longtime party friends and colleagues began begging, no demanding that he “cease and desist” OR ELSE. He was told that unless he drops out he would lose the election to Trump. They just couldn’t let that happen.
In July 2024 Joe Biden made the announcement that he was terminating his campaign and is standing behind his Vice President Kamala Harris as she began campaigning to defeat Trump. The democratic world was once again stunned.
It was like a parting of the Red Sea moment.
Vice President Kamala Harris having received no delegate votes and having no idea what she was going to do to beat Trump simply did what she does best – Shucking and jiving, smiling and smiling, laughing and joking and making everyone around her feeling good about her chances of defeating Trump.
The Harris campaign had a simple plan – “BEAT TRUMP”.
There was no talking of fixing the border crisis of which she played an instrumental role as Biden’s “Border Czar”. There was no spoken plan of fixing the broken economy where astronomical congressional spending was pushing $T of taxpayer money to places and causes unknown. There was no mention of a national security crisis caused by Joe Biden’s open border policy that not only let into our country millions of unvetted and undocumented migrants, but actually initiated the transporting into our country criminal elements in foreign prisons who were classified as UNDESIRABLES and many others were military age men from around the world without documentation.
Kamala Harris’ campaign consisted of pie in the sky words like “Looking Ahead and Forgetting the Past” and declaring a “New Way Forward” – words without substance. Harris’ campaign rallies looked like concerts with huge super star names who parroted the same rhetoric “Trump is a threat to our democracy”, yet nobody and I mean nobody had a clue about helping the working man. What they did was to cater to those who unlawfully entered our country in violation of our nation’s immigration laws and are now living on taxpayer expense.
The finger pointing was aimed at President Biden for not getting out of the race sooner; for MAGA followers of Trump and for Trump himself as the reason Kamala Harris didn’t win. It wasn’t until after the race had ended and the Harris Campaign had spent $B and was in fact $20M in debt, unable to pay many of her campaign staff that democratic voters understood that it was in fact Kamala Harris’s fault she lost the election.
Even Harris’ VP wannabee Tim Walz disappeared and went back to Minnesota to do his governor thing – as if he lost nothing…….
I think it appropriate that until the Democratic Party get themselves reinvented, reborn or reconstituted as a legitimate political party, their logo should be that of two goats facing off in a battle over who has the power. – RTM
