Undermining the Presidency

Where in a Congressional Oath of Office (Senate or House) does it give authority to undermine the office or office holder of the presidency? Is it a constitutionally given right to elected officials that been passed from citizens during the election process or conferred and judicially upheld?

The meaning of UNDERMINE is to subvert or weaken insidiously or secretly.

To undermine means to make someone or something weaker or less effective, often in a secret or gradual way. For example, criticism can undermine a person’s confidence or authority. Encyclopedia Britannica Merriam-Webster

A recent broadcast on CNN was an interview where a member of congress said it was their congressional “duty to undermine President Trump”.

An unrelated act by the “Seditious Six” democratic members of congress (Sen Mark Kelly – AZ, Sen Elissa Slotkin – MI, Rep Jason Crow – CO, Rep Chris Deluzio – PA, Rep Chrissy Houlahan – PA, and Rep Maggie Goodlander – NH) urging members of the military to “refuse illegal orders,” in order to sew dissention and disorder in the ranks of the military.

Who can forget the disgraceful actions of then Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley as he chose to take orders from then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi instead of President Trump and even told Chinese military officials he would provide an early warning before an attack from the United States. Instead of being held accountable Milley was rewarded by President Biden’s autopen with an unconditional, blanket pardon.

There have been other elected/appointed government officials who have conspired at the highest levels in order to undermine President Trump and his administration but have yet to be held accountable.

During my 21+ years of military service (1967 – 1990) I have never given thought to whether any of the presidents under whom I served were of any particular political party or their orders were questionable. Like others wearing the uniforms of the U.S. military I only had to fall back on my Oath of Enlistment (each time I re-enlisted) and current federal and state laws.

I find the actions of every elected/appointed government official to be reprehensible when it adversely affects the health, safety and wellbeing of the citizenry as a whole of the United States to which they are beholding.

Accountability is everything! – RTM
