Is Trump Seeking to Expand the United States?

There is much confusion over statements made by President Trump during his first year of his second term in office. Right off the bat Trump joked that Canada and Greenland needed to become US states and the kicker – Trump wasn’t joking. Congressional Democrats and their MSM went nuts. The fact of the matter is that expansion is not on Trump’s radar, but spreading Freedom and capitalism throughout the Western Hemisphere and beyond.

Canada

If you listened to Trump’s reasoning, it was of vital US national interests, since the US appears to be single handedly holding up the Canadian economy and tariffs threatened to totally disrupt Canada’s economy. Canada’s prime minister did not agree to become the governor of Canada and subsequently quit. The new prime minister wasn’t impressed either and threatened higher tariffs on American goods, but soon backed down. The point was made that the status quo needed to change beginning with stopping drugs and illegal migration along the US-Canada border.

Greenland

As for Greenland, it’s a little known fact that the straits and waterways of the Atlantic Ocean around Greenland are wide open to foreign navies and/or foreign “investors” seeking to exploit scarce Rare Earth minerals that can be used against US national interests. Greenland is technically bound to Denmark, but like a “red-headed stepchild” gets little to no actual support. Their geographical location to the US and Canada make it logical that coming under the US umbrella could mutually benefit both the people of Greenland and the US. I’ve heard little scuttlebutt lately, but the idea is intriguing to say the least. What do the people of Greenland say? 

Panama Canal Zone

When Jimmy Carter gave control of the Canal Zone back to Panama it was done with a caveat that the US reserved the right of ownership should misuse by Panama occur. This was highlighted when Secretary of State Marco Rubio made a trip to Panama and laid down the gantlet to kick China out of the Canal operation, which was basically overcharging US warships and US flagged ships to pass through from the Pacific to the Atlantic and vice versa. This was a flagrant violation of US national interests.

Mexico

The cartels have long controlled much of the interior of Mexico, to the extent they have executed newly elected prosecutors and government officials who dare to stand up to them. When President Biden opened the border, Mexico had no problem facilitating the movement of migrants with no documentation through their country all the way to the US border. That stopped when Trump closed the border. What did not stop the flow of drugs from coming across the border and a US investigative reporter embedded with the Mexican army showed remote sites where drugs were mixed, stored by the cartels for transport across the border. That has prompted Trump to say outright how the president of Mexico needs to do more to stop drugs and/or their ingredients from getting into Mexico in the first place.

Columbia

Many of the cartels originating in Columbia have enabled the saturation of drugs from South America to the US and beyond. Trump has said that the Columbian president needs to step it up to root out those cartels and stop the drugs from being sent into the US. It was the Columbian president who recently advocated for the assassination of Trump due to his ultimatum of Venezuela’s Maduro.

Venezuela

The recent focus on drug boats coming out of Venezuela brought Trump to ordering the elimination of all boats confirmed to be carrying drugs, carried out by the US military. To signal the seriousness of Venezuela’s involvement in targeting the US with illicit drugs Trump ordered the positioning of US naval assets to the area. Warnings to Venezuela’s Maduro to cease and desist sending drugs aimed at the US culminated in first the destruction of port facilities where drugs were loaded on the boats, and then the military operation in support of the US DEA raid in Caracas to apprehend Madero and his wife, as active heads of Venezuela’s drug cartels per the 2020 indictment with a $50M bounty leading to his arrest. Keep in mind that the war on drugs was not nor was it ever a war on Venezuela or its people, but on the cartels moving their products to US consumers.

The people of Venezuela have been in extreme poverty over the past 25 years (17 of which were under Madero) and they are now rejoicing as the hope of returning from exile is now within their grasp. Celebrations began as soon as word surfaced that Maduro was taken by the US. The situation is still tenuous in Venezuela. Those caught celebrating in Venezuela have been warned they will be arrested for treason. Although Maduro is out of the picture, unless his regime is removed from power and the legitimate President is placed in office, it is feared that nothing will change and that has brought a stern warning from President Trump that the US will oversee the lawful transfer of power to a legitimate president.

US naval assets continue on station to maintain a running blockade against moving petroleum products (oil) to foreign powers not aligned with US national interests.

Contrary to Fake News

All the actions taken thus far are lawful and official actions under the US Constitution by President Trump.  

The Ripple Effect

Due to the nature of Latin American cartels out of Venezuela and Columbia, the raid capturing Maduro has caused outrage from the leaders of nations fearful of it affecting their power over their people, many of whom are living well below the poverty level.

Democratic Outrage

What is obvious to me is the level of hate coming out of democratic politicians across the US, not over the capture or arrest of Maduro so much as because President Trump did it without their permission (which he didn’t need). Operational security of Operation Absolute Resolve and the safety of law enforcement and all military personnel was paramount. Absolute secrecy is a must in actions such as this. Democrats have a tendency to “leak” vital information, even when it threatens the safety of US military personnel. The Democrat Party stands for nothing, caters to everything but hates all things Trump, in particularly MAGA.

Like the earlier operation in Iran, no leaks happened in Venezuela either.

I suggest that everyone get behind this president as he intends to restore Freedom to the people of Venezuela so that their nation can once again become a shining light in Latin America.

President Trump isn’t about playing “a political game”, to him it’s all about winning. He campaigned on winning, winning and winning so much that people are going to get tired of winning. Are you tired of winning yet?
