A St. Paul Church Service Interrupted
I’m sure that by now you’ve heard of the purely political interruption of church services two days ago on January 18th, 2026 in St. Paul, Minnesota. More importantly, what have you heard?
News accounts simply report that Anti-ICE protesters confronted the pastor of a St. Paul church because one of the pastors connection to ICE.
In reality according The Center Square article, protesters entered the church and dispersed themselves throughout the congregation before the service and as the pastor began his sermon a woman in the back stands up and says, “Excuse me, pastor.” She then accused the church of employing an ICE official as a pastor. On cue dozens of people throughout the congregation stood up and began chanting.
Church members were directed to a smaller chapel as police began removing protesters.
It is reported that the DOJ is now investigating the protest organized in part by Black Lives Matter Minnesota. It is important to note that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz or Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison have not denounced the actions of the protesters. Their silence equates to their condoning this un-American and highly illegal action by paid political protesters. Entering a house of worship for the purpose of causing chaos, confusion or fear is breaking the law.
The apparent protest leader William Kelly defied AG Pam Bondi to arrest him. (Little did he know that the AG was on the ground in Minneapolis to do just that) – mission accomplished! Also arrested were civil rights attorney Nokima Levi Armstrong and St. Paul School Board Member Chauntyll Louisa Allen (both women are associated with Black Lives Matter Minnesota). All were charged with conspiracy to violate rights. What a disgrace to perpetuate on Sunday and the day before Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in America.
How is that taking care of “our neighbors” governor?
This is not a democrat or a republican issue it is an obeying the law issue.
Whether you like or dislike immigration issues it is a federal criminal offense to enter the country unlawfully and ICE is the arm of Homeland Security that enforces the apprehension and removal of violators.
Elected officials place themselves at risk when they issue edicts, orders and commands that go against the laws of this nation, especially when politically grandstanding and they face arrest and federal prosecution and, if convicted, fines and real prison time that a state governor cannot pardon.
The good people of Minnesota must decide to replace bad politicians with candidates who respect and honor the citizens of their state over politics as usual. – RTM
