My Open Letter to Robert De Niro

Dear Bobby, You were once a pretty good, no a great actor. “I love the smell of napalm in the morning” or was that the other Bobby (Robert Duvall)? Or with Eddy Murphy as a T. J. Hooker cop wannabe? And then supporting Cuba Gooding Jr.’s character in that black navy diver with one leg movie. You really pulled that one off perfectly. Well at least you got your lines down.

I guess as an actor you done well playing other people good and bad. I say well done sir (sarcasm intended).

In real life you’re just like the rest of us- human, prone to getting caught up in events that we can’t control and mental anguish in the form of TDS creeps up and smacks you right in the kisser, know what I mean?

I know for the most part you’re just reading the script, right?

I would caution you not to quit your day job, but you’re really not “all that and a bag of chips” anymore.

As an actor you’re a “has been” and now it’s time to stop and smell the roses and get out the checkerboard or shuffleboard and enjoy life with family and friends.

Your performance in the recent “no kings” demonstration was really bad. Whoever wrote your script probably doesn’t know that the Constitution doesn’t say the Executive Branch must collude with the Legislative Branch when making decisions or policy.

Note that if President Trump we’re to act as a king (like you and your democratic buddies like to claim) he would sign an executive order to abolish the Constitution and Congress and then make it illegal to say anything negative about him or his cabinet. At that point you all would be in jail, right?

Good luck on your future endeavors, leave the public speaking to others. – RTM
