The United Nations Global Compact for Migration (Updated)

I’ve been asking myself, “With all the migrant convoys what are we missing?”

A lot it seems.

“Who is funding these migrants?”

“How is this happening now?”

“What is going on?”

What we see as an “invasion” of migrants through our borders has in fact been a U.N. plan to move people globally into our country (20+M so far) leaving Americans are none the wiser. The Global Compact for Migration is an unsustainable plan that protects migrant rights while ignoring the rights of citizens.

President Barack Obama’s administration was instrumental in talks leading up to a “Declaration of the 2013 High-Level Dialogue on International Migration and Development”.

So why has the interests and Constitution of the United States been subverted by these non-binding documents? International migration in Europe was halted because of the overwhelming problems and issues involving States sovereignty.

In 2016 the Obama administration conspired with the United Nations Heads of State and Government for the first time ever at the UN General Assembly to discuss migration and refugees. The New York Declaration set in motion a process of intergovernmental consultations and negotiations towards the  development of a Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration. This process concluded on 10 December 2018 with the adoption of the Global Compact by the majority of UN Member States at an Intergovernmental Conference in Marrakesh, Morocco, followed closely by formal endorsement by the UN General Assembly on 19 December.

The Global Compact is the first inter-governmentally negotiated agreement, prepared under the auspices of the United Nations, covering all dimensions of international migration in a holistic and comprehensive manner. It is a non-binding document that respects states’ sovereign right to determine who enters and stays in their territory and demonstrates commitment to international cooperation on migration. It presents a significant opportunity to improve the governance of migration, to address the challenges associated with today’s migration, and to strengthen the contribution of migrants and migration to sustainable development. The Global Compact is framed in a way consistent with target 10.7 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in which Member States committed to cooperate internationally to facilitate safe, orderly and regular migration. The Global Compact is designed to:

• Support international cooperation on the governance of international migration;
• Provide a comprehensive menu of options for States from which they can select policy options to address some of the most pressing issues around international migration; and
• Give states the space and flexibility to pursue implementation based on their own migration realities and capacities.

The New York Declaration

For the first time on 19 September 2016 Heads of State and Government came together to discuss, at the global level within the UN General Assembly, issues related to migration and refugees. This sent an important political message that migration and refugee matters have become major issues in the international agenda. In adopting the New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants, the 193 UN Member States recognized the need for a comprehensive approach to human mobility and enhanced cooperation at the global level and committed to:

• Protect the safety, dignity and human rights and fundamental freedoms of all migrants, regardless of their migratory status, and at all times;
• Support countries rescuing, receiving and hosting large numbers of refugees and migrants;
• Integrate migrants – addressing their needs and capacities as well as those of receiving communities – in humanitarian and development assistance frameworks and planning;
• Combat xenophobia, racism and discrimination towards all migrants;
• Develop, through a state-led process, non-binding principles and voluntary guidelines on the treatment of migrants in vulnerable situations; and
• Strengthen global governance of migration, including by bringing IOM into the UN family and through the development of a Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration

Annex II of the New York Declaration set in motion a process of intergovernmental consultations and negotiations culminating in the planned adoption of the Global Compact for Migration at an intergovernmental conference on international migration in 2018.

What are the aims of the Global Compact for Migration?

The Global Compact is framed consistent with target 10.7 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in which Member States committed to cooperate internationally to facilitate safe, orderly and regular migration and its scope is defined in Annex II of the New York Declaration. It is intended to:

• Address all aspects of international migration, including the humanitarian, developmental, human rights-related and other aspects;
• Make an important contribution to global governance and enhance coordination on international migration;
• Present a framework for comprehensive international cooperation on migrants and human mobility;
• Set out a range of actionable commitments, means of implementation and a framework for follow-up and review among Member States regarding international migration in all its dimensions;
• Be guided by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda; and
• Be informed by the Declaration of the 2013 High-Level Dialogue on International Migration and Development.
• The development of the Global Compact for Migration – an open, transparent and inclusive process
• The Modalities Resolution for the intergovernmental negotiations of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration outlined the key elements and timeline of the process. The Global Compact was developed through an open, transparent and inclusive process of consultations and negotiations and the effective participation of all relevant stakeholders, including civil society, the private sector, academic institutions, parliaments, diaspora communities, and migrant organizations in both the intergovernmental conference and its preparatory process.

I then began looking at how these migrants are being funneled through Mexico and Canada to our nation’s borders and force-fed into our interior without consequence.

Mexico’s migration policy is sovereign, seeks to protect migrants’ rights

Under the administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Mexico was the first country to adopt the U.N. Global Compact for Migration in order to ensure a safe, orderly and regular flow of migrants. In keeping with the principles of the global compact and in contrast to the policy of previous administrations, Mexico has stopped deporting hundreds of thousands of Central American migrants.

The Mexican government has instituted a new migration policy based on two main pillars: defending migrants’ rights and taking a humanitarian approach to economic development in order to address the structural causes of migration.

Accordingly, Mexico has granted legal status to more than thirteen thousand foreign nationals who have entered the country at our southern border in order to document their entry and help some of them enter the job market. The new policy rights the fundamental wrong committed previously of condemning migrants to illegality and, therefore, to marginalization and vulnerability.

In like manner, the Mexican government is spearheading the Comprehensive Development Plan. With input from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, the plan includes various projects to boost the economic development of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, thereby mitigating the structural causes that trigger migration.

The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Interior reiterate that Mexico’s implementation of its new migration policy is a sovereign and independent decision to put human rights and the expansion of egalitarian economic development in the region at its core.

The Government of Mexico reiterates that there is no binding agreement with the United States Government to respond to the increased flow of people, mainly families from Central America, who aspire to travel to Mexico and the United States in search of opportunity and protection.

In response to the unilateral decision of the U.S. government to implement Article 235(b)(2)(C) of its Immigration and Nationality Act, Mexico has opted to assist the migrants. For humanitarian reasons, and as a temporary measure, the Mexican government has authorized the entry of some asylum seekers from the United States while they wait for their hearing with the appropriate authorities.  The alternative, deporting them from our country, would mean denying the right of asylum that the Mexican government upholds and protects.

Mexico’s migration authorities are in ongoing communication with their U.S. counterparts in order to ensure that people cross our shared border in a safe and orderly way. In addition, the Mexican government has established specific criteria for the return of certain individuals who entered the United States to request asylum. For example, it will not admit unaccompanied minors into our territory or allow families to be separated.

Mexico respects the sovereign right of the United States to carry out its immigration programs, but we have acted and will continue to act independently and in our sovereign right when determining our own migration policy.

It is obvious (to me) that Mexico has the authority and power to allow migrants into Mexico from Central & South America and other countries. However they do not have the expectation that the United States will simply allow migrants into our country. Those seeking asylum or refugee status should do so at the first country they encounter after leaving their homeland.

As American citizens we have been sold a “bill of goods” and it is not worth the paper it was written on by a government claiming full transparency, while keeping this fiasco out of sight of the American public. I urge President Trump to bring this train of thought to a halt – and NOW!

America is not for sale, not now, not ever. There are problems with the immigration policy of the United States, but they can and should be solved by legislation that does not circumvent the Constitution.

There is a difference between lawful and unlawful migration, refugees seeking amnesty and those simply wanting to come here for a better life. Seeking permission is not the same as demanding anything. Being allowed in this country MUST begin with being granted admittance lawfully. – RTM

What is the Department Of Government Efficiency?

I’d like to think of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as President Trump’s proposed presidential advisory commission, or the modern day equivalent of the Peace Corps (1961) and Job Corps (1964) with a huge caveat in that DOGE differs by focusing on trimming pork and inefficiency from the federal government using non-paid citizen-volunteers to do the heavy lifting. DOGE is headed by volunteers Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy in coordination with the Office of Management and Budget and the Council of Economic Advisers. DOGE is tasked with restructuring the federal government of the United States and removing regulations in order to reduce expenditures and increase government efficiency. DOGE’s work will begin on January 20^th, 2025 and conclude no later than July 4, 2026.

Will it work?

Our bloated government is costing taxpayers untold $B$ yearly. So my question is where are they going to begin? Do they recommend to the president and to congress the shuttering of entire agencies; the mass firing of civil service employees; or encouraging retirement for those who qualify?  What about holding employees accountable for their actions/inaction?

DOGE is more than simply a “think tank” but the brains of a detailed and thorough evaluation and accountability entity with no power to make changes, but the authority to forward their evaluation and to bring recommendations to the Executive Branch.

What about conflicts of interest?

I don’t see any COI possibility as none of the volunteers have a vested interest in making this work, other than that of ordinary taxpayers who believe in smaller government, working smarter, not harder is the way of the future of America.

In the spirit of Making America Great Again I concur that President Trump’s idea could work wonders when the motivation behind the effort is driving the train for the greater good of our nation. – RTM

The Release of the DOJ IG Final J6 Report – My Take (Updated 1-7-2025)

For readers who follow my RTM blog posts one thing is clear that my writings on the events of January 6^th 2021 and the days following have remained consistent. President Donald Trump did not incite a riot or civil unrest that resulted in the storming of the capitol by angry MAGA followers.

January 6th was a failed attempt by radical elements on the progressive political left to take down the sitting President of the United States during the Electoral College confirmation process of the 2020 election. Even after 4 years none of those responsible have ever been held accountable. I suspect that next month they will have a wakeup call.

Imagine my surprise when I was confronted shortly after January 6^th by a friend who asked if I supported what President Trump and MAGA did at the capitol? I asked what this person was talking about. I was informed that Trump and MAGA were trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power. I told him that was not possible, it’s not how MAGA thinks or operates. I went further to say that in all the Trump rallies to date there has never been one incident where MAGA was violent or incited violence. The only violence has been to MAGA folks by individuals or domestic terrorist groups.

On J6 I was watching a live broadcast by Chanel Rion OANN’s White House Correspondence where she was interviewing the first of the MAGA crowd (families, moms & dads) to arrive at the capitol. As they were showing the capitol someone asked why were people being let in to the upper level by police? Keep in mind that it had taken these folks 45 minutes of walking to reach the capitol and they were hot and tired but anxious to watch the confirmation live.

I remember watching interviews of President Trump where he warned House Speaker Pelosi to bring in the National Guard if she was worried that things might get out of hand. She refused saying something to the effect that it was bad optics.

Well Trump was still speaking at the rally as unidentified people were being let into the capitol and MAGA supporters were waiting to see if they were even able to  go to the Capitol to be able to see for themselves the confirmation process.

When capitol police began motioning for MAGA to enter through the lower level door, the first ones going inside witnessed overturned trash receptacles and began cleaning up the mess and trash that was spilled over the floor.

There were reports of people dressed in MAGA gear going into congressional offices and taking electronics or other items. As more people made entrance into the capitol there was one single and unprovoked incident where capitol police lieutenant Michael Bird discharged his weapon through a locked door, shooting and killing retired USAFR Ashley Babbitt, a former security police officer. The police officer said he feared for his life and the lives of others – from an unarmed 90 lb. woman?

“I quit FB in November because Zuckerberg & his cronies censored my opinion. I am not okay with anyone’s opinion being censored & will fight for their right to have freedom of speech until my dying breath.

I am only temporarily rejoining because we are in Washington DC. We have witnessed what actually occurred here today. What the media is reporting is such bull sh*t that I felt first hand experience needed to be voiced.

There were millions of people here, hotel usage was estimated 3 million. Joe & I walked to the front of the Capital. Antifa was escorted in. They grabbed MAGA gear right in front of us & then started shaking down the police barricade. I said to them this isn’t how Trump supporters act & was told a few expletives. A few morons were sheep & did follow, but out of all the people there, asking for justice, this is what the media focuses on. A handful of morons that weren’t all Trump supporters.

Many of you believe the media 100%. I am not going to debate your political beliefs or ideologies but we are here. We were at the Capital. This is a setup. This is a narrative the media is attempting to spin.

We had a wonderful day, in spite of Mayor Bowser turning off all cell service to the city, all Wi-Fi to the city off, closing all restaurants, grocery stores, removing all porta potties. She did everything she could to attempt to make everyone give up, we did not. The media is attempting to make today a dreadful day, it was for a handful. Our only regret was not filming the Antifa members & attempting to stop them.

Anyone who is actually our friends know we would not waste our time even engaging the diehards on the other side if we didn’t want the truth out there.

If you comment politically I am just deleting it as I am not asking for Trump support and we have well researched our stance & aren’t looking to be changed as well.”

The confirmation process was paused as members of congress and others were herded to safe locations according to protocol. After the capitol was cleared and deemed safe the process continued and Joe Biden was confirmed as the President-Elect to become the 46^th President.

Soon the J6 Committee was formed and the FBI began a nationwide sweep to find and locate anyone who was a MAGA supporter and in Washington DC, in the vicinity of or inside the capitol on J6. The results of this sweep was to apprehend, detain and imprison several hundred persons, not for damaging or causing destruction inside the capitol, but for simply being there on that day.

Now the release of the Final 88 page Report reveals that the FBI had direct dealings on J6 using 24 designated confidential human sources (and an untold number of non-designated) pretending to be MAGA that went inside the capitol “undercover”, they were never arrested or charged. At least 4 of these “CHS” made it inside a controlled area in or around the capitol. These “CHS” were most likely criminals or felons who were told what to do and to collect “data” and what was to be reported back to the FBI.

Former FBI director Wray submitted his resignation one day after the DOJ IG Report’s release to the public and after being grilled by members of congress over the FBI’s involvement on J6.

Keep in mind that President Trump fired FBI director Comey and replaced him with deputy director Wray. At the time I wrote a blog post saying this was an opportunity for director Wray to prove himself as an agent for change within the FBI or confirm he was in fact part of the problem. Now we know.

I venture to say that reading the 88 page report will reveal a lot more surprises about the FBI and confirm President Trump’s pick of Cash Patel who was himself targeted by the FBI as being the perfect person needed at this time in history to bring a real and much needed change to the FBI.

I’m not going to link to any of my previous blog posts, but encourage the reader to search for “The Real Truckmaster” blogs, and then scroll through the more than 1,000 articles I’ve written and determine for yourself whether the media has gotten anything right when it comes to Trump and MAGA.

As an aside note, there has never been a MAGA rally where conservatives have initiated or been engaged in acts of violence (including J6). There have however been demonstrators, protestors and threats and assassination attempts on Donald Trump’s life. – RTM

Drones over New Jersey (Updated)

You might be thinking drones, smones, what does that have to do with anything? Well let me tell you that after doing a quick google search I came across this article that covers Iran’s conversion of two container ships to carry swarms of drones for various military applications.

What I can’t believe is that DHS has the capability to spot, track and take down, if necessary, unidentified aircraft or engage sea traffic that is threatening our coastline, but has no idea who or what is controlling these swarms of drones over NJ, PA and along our eastern seaboard.?

It is at the point where the President should declare a national emergency and authorize the capture or elimination of the so-called mothership that is anchored somewhere off the eastern coast of the United States and launching drones to what, gage our military response or lack thereof?

At the very least the FBI, CIA or DOD should be able to disable the drones or the controllers on the mothership(s).

Thus far the “authorities” offer no explanation other than saying there is no public threat, but how would they know if they can’t even get close?

Can anybody in government spell “NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT”?

Recent reports indicate that those drone sightings aren’t really drones at all but manned aircraft doing what they do all the time – FLY. (Area 51 anybody)

It doesn’t account for at least 1 report by a NJ State Police helicopter that had a drone hovering underneath it, then lights out and the drone was left the area. I’m still not convinced. – RTM

The Greatest Gift!

Christmas would be just another day without Jesus.

The real story of Christmas is in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. You can see that they focus on different aspects of the birth of Jesus. They all tell the wonderful story of God’s never ending love for mankind. God sent his only begotten son Jesus, who was and is and always will be. Jesus is God in the flesh, born into a sinful world. Jesus lived a sinless life. Jesus died a despicable death on the cross for our sins.

Jesus’ purpose on earth was not to condemn but to provide a ransom for the sins of all mankind.

Look at where Jesus was born a manger, in Bethlehem, at a time foretold in the book of Isaiah chapter 9, yet no one expected or would take notice, lowly shepherds came to see him and then three kings from afar came bringing precious gifts and bowed down recognizing his majesty. Think of that, kings bowed down to him, while one king sought to kill him out of pure jealousy?

Jesus would go on to live a life without sin, showing by example that it was possible, only by being totally committed and submitted to the will of God the Father. Jesus constantly told his disciples that he did only what he saw his Father in Heaven do.

Jesus would be falsely accused, even unto death on the cross, without defending himself. And why would the creator God need to justify himself to his creation. Jesus endured unspeakable humiliation, pain and scorn so that you and I could be made clean from our sin and able to stand before a Holy God.

Jesus didn’t have to, but he did and willingly.

The bible tells us that if we believe Jesus is the Son of God, who lived and died for our sins; and if we ask for God to forgive us in the name of Jesus; we will have eternal life.

John 3:16-17

¹⁶ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ¹⁷ For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

This Christmas season the greatest gift of all is waiting for you to accept, from the God who created the universe?

Not Guilty Reckless Endangerment Resulting in Death

How many times do young black men have to die while engaged in the act of doing something really stupid and the blame is cast elsewhere?

The unfortunate death of Jordan Neely on a New York City subway was of his own making. After boarding the subway his prophetic statement that “Someone’s going to die today” came true. Was it because of being restrained by “good Samaritan” Daniel Penny or in part because of his unstable mental state coupled with drug use? We can only speculate. What is clear is that New Yorkers on that subway were fearful for their lives until someone stepped up to do something.

What is also clear is that racial undertones by the Black Lives Matter co-founder who called it a clear case of a white man getting away with murdering a black man and something must be done.

Isn’t that the same attitude that resulted in the death of Jordan Neely in the first place? I think so.

Where was BLM when Jordan Neely was placed on the list of 50 most dangerous homeless persons in New York City? Was BLM out there actively doing something to get this homeless man off the streets and into a treatment program or a job placement program or even some type of housing program?

If Black Lives really Matter to BLM then why is it that we never hear from them until AFTER a black life has been lost? And if BLACK lives matter then should not ALL lives matter too?

Stop playing the race card and do what was said at the family’s press conference – GO OUT AND HELP SOMEONE!

The parents of Jordan Neely are going through agony over what they call the murder of their son whom they loved and miss very much. Again where were they when Jordan needed them? They must have obviously known their son was on drugs, homeless and a danger to people on the streets. What did they do to change the course of Jordan’s path down the road of life?

How is going after Daniel Penny in a civil suit going to fix anything? Exactly how much is Jordan’s life really worth?

Where is the prosecutor Alvin Bragg or anyone from his staff after the trial reassuring the public that the trial was fair and weighed the evidence presented to them?

Where is Mayor Eric Adams of New York City calming and reassuring the public?

The death of Jordan Neely was most unfortunate, but could have been prevented, had those with intimate knowledge of the facts and people involved made effort to change the course of history before the incident ever happened.

The Accountability Presidency

Don’t let the headlines fool you. The incoming Trump administration is being assembled to bring full accountability to a government that has operated for years as an extension of a major crime family and what you are witnessing are the rats coming out of the closet. How else can you justify those who are trying to get on the Joe Biden pardon list?

When Donald Trump announced during the 2015-16 campaign season that he was going to drain the DC swamp he was laughed at, scorned and during a democratically led preemptive attack that began with allegations and nonstop trumped up charges including two impeachments and the January 6^th 2021 Coup all designed to take down the then sitting president and prevent even the remotest possibility of his returning to power as a future elected president.

During the 2024 campaign season President Trump survived not just one, but two assassination attempts and came out as president-elect to replace President Biden on January 20^th 2025.

As President-elect, Trump has assembled an entirely new White House and administrative cabinet with the sole intent to bring accountability to government by removing anti-American and unproductive government employees at every federal level (draining the swamp) in order to bring back confidence and trust to many long standing agencies created to maintain order, safety and security to American citizens at home and abroad.

And let me say this, unlike the first time where Trump relied primarily on the recommendations of others, this time around Trump has been fully vetting HIS nominees to make this administration unlike any other in the history of the United States.

As I have already said do not be fooled by the headlines or the massive misinformation campaign being waged by the political left and their media lackeys. This administration is fully committed to digging into the makeup and composition of each federal agency to insure that they are doing their due diligence to aid and assist America citizens and taxpayers or face disillusion of the agency or removal of those government employees who consider job security as their only concern.

Rest assured in time there may be many who face criminal prosecution for unlawful, unethical and/or wasteful spending or practices. Many federal jobs will be removed through attrition, while others simply because of duplication or no longer needed and there will be turmoil, gnashing of teeth, screaming and unadulterated anger, but there will be accountability in government once again.

Accountability has to come from the very bottom up – the Voters!

Hold your elected officials to their promises!

Those who fail to deliver should be recalled or removed at the ballot box.

Public Service is elected officials are Public Servants – of the people, by the people and for the people, nothing more, nothing less. America is US! (We are the United States of America).

We are not better than anyone else. We must lead by example – the world is watching! – RTM

Pardon my Pardon (Updated)

It never ceases to amaze me how the democratic left reacts with outright selfish stupidity. Before President Biden jetted off in Air Force One to Angola he gave his son a sweeping pardon covering a period of 10 years, for things he did and got caught, tried and convicted and for things he has never been charged with. After Hunter’s pardon was announced cries came forth from both the right and left condemning this two-faced politician for doing the very thing he said multiple times that he would never do.

Some said Biden should issue a bunch of pardons and include President Trump for the crimes he was convicted of, but had not been sentenced for, and he had never done in the first place.

Now we’re 5 days out and people the Biden camp is saying that there are many pardons about to happen as they “Trump Proof” crooked democratic politicians, news media personalities and even those 20M+ illegal aliens who snuck across the border in open daylight, including the gang members many sought to flee. Even the “Reverend” Jessie Jackson is begging for a pardon for his son who has “done the crime and done the time” already.

Biden has really crossed over the line from simply being a really bad president, to also being a really bad father to his son Hunter who is not a kid anymore, but a lawyer just like his dad.

I would imagine there are more than 200 politicians sitting in Congress right now who are adding their names to Biden’s list of pardonables – and on both sides of the isle.

One topic I heard aired on cable news is whether or not anyone has or will ever refuse a pardon, especially a Biden pardon?

Or does a president have the constitutional authority or power to reverse presidential pardons of a previous president?

Here’s something about pardons you might not know. A pardon must be accepted and the one being pardoned must admit guilt of the offense. That then nullifies that person’s 5th Amendment right to remain silent. That person can be called before a grand jury to testify about that offense and anyone else involved. The pardon is for federal offenses, and if state law had been violated that person could still be charged for the state charge.

I look at it this way, Biden has disgraced the office of a U.S. Senator for more than 30 years; disgraced the office of the Vice President under Obama for 8 years; and the office of the President for the past 4 years, so what is left that he has not disgraced?

I’m surprised that President Biden has not done the unthinkable by calling for Vice President Kamala Harris’ resignation, since she hasn’t really done anything noteworthy as VP anyway. Then she too would be seeking a presidential pardon for soaking democratic heavy hitters and political fundraising donors for $2B + $20M in mismanaged campaign finances (not to mention those gofundme folks who are still giving her nickels and dimes.

This reminds me of flies swarming over a small fresh pile of “dudu” so as to get the best free lunch around. – RTM

It’s interesting to note that after January 6^th then Captain Hegseth was among Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s (former sergeant major Walz) National Guardsmen activated to protect the Nation’s Capital, but was singled out because of his tattoos and labeled a “white supremacist” and then removed from the deployment detail for his conservative values.

As President-elect Trump began assembling his “dream team” administration one of the first nominees was Pete Hegseth to become Secretary of Defense. Those are the facts and it scares the far left progressives that a secretary Hegseth has the experience, willingness and ability to bring President Trump’s reforms to the U.S. military establishment.

Tt is pretty evident that Pete is the right guy for the job as evidenced by the left’s smear and allegations campaign after his selection by President Trump.

Eternity the Final Destination

The world is all about jockeying for position and power. The world system says he who has the most toys wins. Wins what? An all-expense paid trip to Shangri-La? Well not exactly.

The bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. So it is that the heart of man is evil in all his ways. Man cannot save himself or anyone else. Salvation is a gift from God, lest any man should boast.

Life is a journey meant to be lived to the fullest and with deep interaction with others.

Christmas is a time of celebrating the gift of God sent down from above with the Father’s love? The uniqueness of that heavenly gift is that God sent his only begotten son Jesus who is the Christ as a living human sacrifice to pay the penalty, which is death, for the sins of all mankind.  

As with any gift without the receiver taking hold and possession of the gift it simply sits there quietly waiting. The giver (God) has done his part and the gift (Jesus) has done his part. Now it is up to the receiver to do his part, to grab hold and accept the gift as if his very life depends upon it.

Life does depend upon that gift being received, accepted and an eternal relationship entered into with the God who created us. The end result will be an eternity with God where all is good because God is good. Accepting salvation is a choice, your choice and mine.

Salvation occurs when someone believes that Jesus is the Christ, born of a virgin, lived a life without sin, died on the cross at Calvary, and rose on the third day and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father and asks for forgiveness with a repentant heart. And then turns from his sinful ways to follow Jesus.

Rejecting or not accepting the gift of salvation is choosing an eternity without God where nothing good exists. There is a place (the bottomless pit) reserved for Satan and his angels but rejecting salvation can land you there by choice. Believe me when I say that refusing to believe or to choose is in itself a choice.

Look around at the anger, divisiveness and continual backbiting that is happening everywhere. It is but a taste of what an eternity without God will be like.
