Another Look at The Peter Principle in American Politics
“Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it.” ― Laurence J. Peter
What is really prevalent in our society today is how President Joe Biden’s Democratic Party is slowly turning the helm of the USS United States of America away from the Constitutional-Republic as envisioned in the Constitution of the United States of America and steering toward a time-proven failed Democracy patterned government where imbeciles really are running the ship of state. When did it all start? I’m sure nobody can really pinpoint the exact time or date and what politician was at the root of our nation’s decline toward socialism.
Over my lifetime I’ve taken a number of business management, phycology and sociology classes which do more to confuse than to enlighten anyone about business, let alone politics. It would take a real pragmatist to figure out where problems lie and how to fix them.
One book I found useful was called The Peter Principle, a concept in management theory formulated by educator Laurence J. Peter and published in 1969 where it states that “the selection of a candidate for a position is based on the candidate’s performance in their current role, rather than on abilities relevant to the intended role”. (Someone might be a good gas station attendant, but a horrible manager of that same gas station.) According to Laurence J. Peter, “Thus, employees only stop being promoted once they can no longer perform effectively, and “managers rise to the level of their incompetence”.
The goings on across America in Local, State and Federal Government show how the Peter Principle is alive and well. Take the striving for a better America by President Trump and the type and level of resistance from the Legislative and Judicial Branches and others at federal, state and local levels where President Biden and many government officials act as they are above the law and cannot be touched.
The names are too numerous to list here, but take any “news” article from any media source on any given day and you can see where certain individuals in elected or appointed positions fit into the hierarchy as defined by these Peter Principle Quotes by Laurence J. Peter
“In a hierarchy, every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence.” ― Laurence J. Peter
This saying is particularly relevant today, “In most hierarchies, super-competence is more objectionable than incompetence.” He warned that extremely skilled and productive employees often face criticism, and are fired if they don’t start performing worse. Their presence “disrupts and therefore violates the first commandment of hierarchical life: the hierarchy must be preserved.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Any government, whether it is a democracy, a dictatorship, a communistic or free enterprise bureaucracy, will fall when its hierarchy reaches an intolerable state of maturity.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Work is accomplished by those employees who have not yet reached their level of incompetence.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“As individuals we tend to climb to our levels of incompetence. We behave as though up is better and more is better, and yet all around us we see the tragic victims of this mindless escalation.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“A staff increase may produce a temporary improvement, but the promotion process eventually produces its effect on the newcomers and they, too, rise to their levels of incompetence.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Three Observations
1) The computer may be incompetent in itself—that is, unable to do regularly and accurately the work for which it was designed. This kind of incompetence can never be eliminated, because the Peter Principle applies in the plants where computers are designed and manufactured.
2) Even when competent in itself, the computer vastly magnifies the results of incompetence in its owners or operators.
3) The computer, like a human employee, is subject to the Peter Principle. If it does good work at first, there is a strong tendency to promote it to more responsible tasks, until it reaches its level of incompetence.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Slump, and the world slumps with you. Push and you push alone.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Many a man, under the old and the new systems, has made the upward step from candidate to legislator, only to achieve his level of incompetence.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Employees in a hierarchy do not really object to incompetence (Peter’s Paradox): they merely gossip about incompetence to mask their envy of employees who have Pull.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“All, from police forces to armed forces, are rigid hierarchies of salaried employees, and all are necessarily cumbered with incompetents who cannot do their existing work, cannot be promoted, yet cannot be removed.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“He must examine his objectives and see that true progress is achieved through moving forward to a better way of life, rather than upward to total life incompetence.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“In time, every post tends to be occupied by an employee who is incompetent to carry out its duties.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“The efficiency of a hierarchy is inversely proportional to its Maturity Quotient, M.Q. MQ = No. of employees at level of incompetence × 100 Total no. of employees in hierarchy. Obviously, when MQ reaches 100, no useful work will be accomplished at all.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Nobody understands how the incessant pressure from above and the incurable incompetence below make it utterly impossible for me to do an adequate job and keep a clean desk.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Know, all the good that individuals find, Or God and Nature meant to mere Mankind, Reason’s whole pleasure, all the joys of Sense, Lie in three words, Health, Peace, and Competence. (Ibid., 11. 77–80)” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Incompetence,” he argued, “knows no barrier of time or place.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Given enough time—and assuming the existence of enough ranks in the hierarchy—each employee rises to, and remains at, his level of incompetence.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“The more conceited members of the race think in terms of an endless ascent—or promotion ad infinitum. I would point out that, sooner or later, man must reach his level of life-incompetence.” ― Laurence J. Peter
“In a Hierarchy Every Employee Tends to Rise to His Level of Incompetence” ― Laurence J. Peter
“Such an extreme policy will not be generally tolerated. So, to avoid the accumulation of incompetents, administrators have evolved the plan of promoting everyone, the incompetent as well as the competent. They find psychological justification for this policy by saying that it spares students the painful experience of failure.” ― Laurence J. Peter
There is a lot of political talk from the left about the age of President (45) Trump vs President (46) Biden. Both are running for the same office in November’s Presidential Election and there can be only one winner, but as we know there could be over 43M losers – American citizens.
Well let me burst your bubble – Age is only a number! Yes that’s right!
What age doesn’t do is change your maturity level when it comes to politics. Someone dumber than dirt at age 35 may still be dumber than dirt at age 75, 85 or 95.
Watch each politician. I mean really watch them, listen to what they say and how they say it (their message delivery).
Are they energetic, engaging, dynamic and are they communicating to you? Or are they lackluster at best?
Do they command a crowd? By that I mean are there crowds of people leaning in anticipation waiting to hear what they have to say?
Do they use a teleprompter and still have trouble following along or reading their given lines?
Or do they speak from their heart and tell you what they really believe or just what you want to hear?
Politicians are like flies. Once they touch the sweet stuff (honey, sugar, nectar) they just can’t let it go. We see that in members of congress who’ve taken up homesteading rights, making the House or the Senate their HOME!
Am I right?
Lately we’ve see several coming to the chamber being pushed in wheelchairs and stay until they have to be carried out on a stretcher. Their funerals paint them as a saint or demigod. Their co-harts (compadres) have the audacity to demand that certain politicians are banned from attending. Unless it is written in their last will and testament “that politician “X” be banned from my funeral” who are they (anyone) to think they (Nancy) can demand anything?
Maybe that’s really what age does to some people. They either can’t function as they grow older, but then again who’s to say they were functioning when they were younger?
Politics should NEVER be a lifetime thing. I mean a career in politics simply means they couldn’t find or gain meaningful employment elsewhere and made getting votes their only claim to fame.
It’s the “how many politicians does it take to change a lightbulb” kind of thing? They must first see, know and recognize that the lightbulb has burnt out! – RTM
Voting in the United States is a right of citizenship that is protected by the Constitution. Even so it has been a long hard fight for women and people of color to be able to exercise their right to vote. In the political scheme of things we have been told that we should endorse “EVERY VOTE COUNTS”, and that is simply not true.
There are deadlines for those wishing to cast their ballot for cities, county, state and national elections. In order to meet the criteria for casting your ballot it is a requirement to “REGISTER” in the precinct you reside in.
Not registered – Not voting!
So simple isn’t it?
Another hot button is with “ABSENTEE” voting, where in many states registered voters may request an absentee ballot in order to vote early in an election. The signature on an absentee ballot must match the signature on the voter registration form and/or voter registration database listing. Voters may not vote in person and by absentee ballot. It’s easy to have unsolicited absentee ballots filled out and mailed in, so as to cancel in person voting such as when absentee ballots are sent out in mass mailings to individuals who did not request them, opening a Pandora’s Box to fraud, vote stealing and ballot harvesting. This is especially true when signatures are not reconciled against voter registration cards or databases. It is a requirement for cast ballots in person or at the ballot collection boxes “POLLS” BEFORE the voting deadline on Election Day.
It is illegal for politicians and or “enforcers” to intimidate voters outside or inside the polling places. It is irresponsible for employees, supervisors and/or any other person to facilitate or restrict movement of neutral polling “judges” who are monitoring ballot processing, using intimidation tactics.
Lastly as it was reported in the 2020 Presidential Election, voting software manipulation can easily skew ballots tabulated by voting equipment, or by unscrupulous polling place personnel. Anyone who enables or participates in election interference for or against any political party must be held accountable and prosecuted. – RTM
What can I say about politics that hasn’t already been said or talked about? People go into politics for a number of reasons. Some want to change the world around us. Others want to change the way they feel that things are being done incorrectly. Still others are out to make a name for themselves. While others want power, money and/or fame, at any expense or cost (to someone else).
We saw it in the rise of a completely unknown individual who in a matter of a few short years rose to a prominent position of power which nobody saw coming. Did he sit back, take notes and studied on how the game of politics in Washington was being played. Or did he plan for when the timing was just right, leap-frogged right over the top of the DNC favorite, captured the minds of thousands who were expecting a real change in 2006? It should have been no surprise that he was even awarded the Nobel Prize not for anything that he had accomplished or done, but for what he “MIGHT DO”.
Unsuspecting voters must be vitally aware of who politicians really are, what are their core values and do they have the intestinal fortitude to stand up alone and declare to the world what they intend to do if elected to public office. Nobody can allow their judgement to be clouded by hate to the point that when the dust settles they are stuck with a less than honorable or capable candidate potentially with their finger on the nuclear “football” triggering the next world war.
Voters – What do you believe and Why? Are you voting for someone who shares your values? Take stock of the things you hold dear and are worth dying for, so as to determine if politicians running for office share those same core values and are they articulating real attainable goals or simply making empty promises? Is their vision of a future America inclusive of ALL Americans, or just those of their particular political party?
Watch the track record of politicians and then follow them during their first 100 days in office to see if things get progressively better for our nation and for ALL AMERICANS in particular?
Are our veterans being taken care of?
Are our homeless communities expanding and why?
Don’t fall for the hype that Americans who believe that America’s best days are still ahead and we can Make America Great Again or just a bunch of nutcases or domestic terrorists.
The nutcases and domestic terrorists may already be infesting our government agencies created to keep us safe. As the saying goes “You are what you do”, apply that to voting. You are who you vote for and that is just not a good thing if it is endangering our economy, our nation and our way of life.
In 1875 the Supreme Court declared the regulation of immigration a federal responsibility.
In 1891 the Immigration Service was established.
In 1924 Congress created the U.S. Border Patrol within the Immigration Service.
Congress has modified or changed immigration laws to the point they have become bloated, underfunded and unmanageable.
It’s time to throw out all the immigration hype and over typification being broadcast online, cable, and mainstream media. Pitch it! Trash it! Done!
What America needs is a pinpoint refocusing of how to effectively allow skilled and trainable migrant families and individuals seeking work and a better life; students seeking a better education; refugees seeking asylum and/or tourists just wanting to visit the United States. I mean those who want to be here and for the right reasons and they must be able to pay their own expenses without becoming a burden on community tax payers. It is not the tax payer or the government’s responsibility to care for anyone wishing to come to the United States.
There are a whole host of undesirables (criminals, terrorists and troublemakers) who should never be allowed to set foot into the United States.
There should be visas for:
Work
Tourism
Residence
Asylum
The process should be made simpler and straightforward – birth certificate, national identification, skill or work documentation, list of business, family or friends in the United States where travel is sought to.
One of the biggest failures of the current immigration policy are documentation, enforcement and funding. It’s not enough to hire more border patrol agents and/or immigration judges if the process or capacity is inadequate for the task. Congress must ensure the immigration process is fully sustainable over the long term.
Every person who enters the United States must obtain a valid visa per the category they have applied. It must be available for inspection upon demand by local or national law enforcement authorities. Re-registering/extending visas must be done at the nearest Customs and Immigration Facility. Every person granted a visa must agree to abide by the terms of their visa and abide by all current cities, county, state and/or national laws.
The most important task given to government is the safety and protection of each American citizen and every foreign guest, migrant or visitor to the United States. Congress has the power to create, change or modify immigration laws that are inadequate, outdated or ineffective and once signed into law it becomes the charge of government to insure those laws are followed.
If immigration is a federal responsibility then selectively un-enforcing border control is an abdication of said responsibility. So who exactly is guilty of this open border policy – the President, the Homeland Security Secretary, the Director of Customs and Border Patrol, the voters who elected those responsible?
Is it not then the responsibility of governors and legislators of border states (Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Main, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware, District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia), Alaska, and Hawaii or virtually EVERY STATE, territory and protectorate to secure our nation’s borders from land, sea and air?
Persons who enable the violation of immigration laws of the United States must be held accountable and prosecuted (this includes elected/appointed officials at city, county, state or national level).
There is actually nothing funny about hate and when left unchecked it is anti-love on steroids. Hate can turn into a cancer of both the soul and spirit without so much as a spark. Hate can result from a misunderstanding or a misperception of something someone is reported to have done or said, and it doesn’t even have to be about you.
I remember a lady who received a doctor’s report of cancer in her body that gave her little time left to live, so she became scared, and then angry. As she began to get her affairs in order, she realized that she had unforgiveness in her heart towards her mother. She went to her mother begging for forgiveness of harboring this silent anger inside her for so many years. Her mother forgave her and they hugged and cried and they became closer than ever before. When she went back to her doctor for a followup on the cancer, the report came back as NO CANCER in her body.
Hate is like that and when kept inside builds up to the point of explosion that comes out of mouth as insults, threats and can lead to actions which have consequences.
Hate is a choice, a decision and when acted upon causes frustration and embarrassment for the person doing the hating. Others see it on your face, your body and by your actions.
Hate does more to you than it does to the subject of your hate. Do you HATE broccoli or do you just not like broccoli?
I often say that I HATE fruitcake, but basically I don’t like fruitcake.
Hate comes up constantly in politics. One political party candidate disses the other candidates and so on and so forth until the media get involved and accentuate the negatives in order to increase their ratings. Nothing would come of it if people didn’t react the way they do.
I thought it odd that CNN sponsored the GOP Iowa Caucus and the moderator made it a point to bring up Donald Trump’s legal woes to one of his rival candidates. I thought it was in bad taste. I don’t understand why they could not foresee the outcome of the caucus – each candidate attempted to prove how different they were from a vote for Trump, and Trump kept the same message he had in 2015 – Make America Great Again.
It wasn’t until after Trump had won the caucus that the real hate came to the surface as first CNN and then MSNBC hosts announced they would not air Trump’s victory speech because of the lies. However they never said what those lies actually were. I thought it pertinent to include the transcript of Trump’s victory speech here:
I am honored to be the first person in the United States to endorse this guy. The next president, the 47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
And when he says endorse, we’re really talking about 2015. He endorsed me before, actually long before I knew I was going to run. I said, “Who’s this man in Iowa? He’s a senator, a state senator. He is a good-looking guy too, doesn’t he look…” You could pay him and give him a lot of money. And by the way, Mr. Chairman, I want to thank you for being here. You are so great. Comes all the way from Missouri, which isn’t that far. You can’t drive an electric car that far though. Thank you very much. I appreciate it very much.
(00:53) The group of people that we have on the stage is just emblematic of the tremendous group that we’ve had. We’ve had such a great team. We did well, we were looking really good in 2016. And just to go back to the senator, he was saying, I said, “Who is that guy? Brad, his name. Who is he? He keeps endorsing me. He keeps saying Trump, and I didn’t even know I was running.” He endorsed me four months before I knew I was running about four months before the Escalade ride down with our great first lady, and that was Brad. I said, “Who is he?” So he was the first one.
(01:28) But we have people that are so incredible. You’re Republican Party Chairman Bobby Kaufmann and his son, who is a brilliant guy and he worked with us. And I will tell you that is a family of real professionals. Matt Whitaker, who is the very talented and very good attorney general. Where is Matt? He’s around here someplace and he’s been with us all the way. We have a man that was very impressive and I say there’s nothing wrong with it. He’s so solid and so good that he didn’t catch on. Sometimes being a little controversial is good. He’s so perfect.
(02:08) Although he did break his leg during the campaign, that wasn’t so good. But it sort of stood out a little bit, Doug. But Doug Burgum from North Dakota, the governor and his beautiful wife Kathryn. And he got out of the race. What people don’t know is that he actually supported me on the other side twice already, right? Then he decided to do it and he was outstanding. But the traction is never easy, right? You need controversy for traction sometimes. And this guy is the most solid guy. There’s no controversy whatsoever.
(02:43) And he is one of the best governors in our country, and I hope that I’m going to be able to call on him to be a piece of the administration, a very important piece of the administration. And also just to conclude with this, the entire Trump team, and that includes my two boys who are really here all the time whenever we needed them. Whenever we needed them. They are great, Eric and Don. And look at all these people. Susie, I have to say. And Chris. Chris. And they want no accolades. They just want a victory and they want to make America great again.
(03:25) That’s all they want actually. They don’t want to be speaking. They don’t want to have pictures. They just want to do their job, right? I want to thank you very much, Jason, everybody. You’re really fantastic. What a job you’ve done. Thank you. So we’re going to come together. We are going to drill baby, drill, right away, drill baby, drill. We’re going to seal up the border because right now we have an invasion. We have an invasion of millions and millions of people that are coming into our country.
(03:59) I can’t imagine why they think that’s a good thing. It’s a very bad thing. I think it’s a group of people that probably larger in number than New York state. And we can’t have that. We can’t have that. It’s not sustainable as a country. It’s horrible. And they’re coming from prisons and jails. They’re coming from all over. They’re coming from countries that most people have never heard of. And they’re coming from mental institutions and insane asylums. They’re being emptied out into our country. And they’re terrorists.
(04:31) Many terrorists are coming in. In 2019, I saw just recently on a poll, they had none in 2019, no terrorists. Now I even say there’s got to be some, but they have none. And then as soon as this group took over, they have hundreds and hundreds of terrorists coming in, known terrorists, some of them really bad. And many of them are in, and they came in and nobody knows where they are. This is not a good thing and we’re going to have to deport. We’re going to have to have a deportation level that we haven’t seen in this country for a long time since Dwight Eisenhower actually.
(05:11) So I don’t want to be overly rough on the president, but I have to say that he is the worst president that we’ve had in the history of our country. He’s destroying our country. And my wife attended the funeral two months ago of Rosalynn Carter and it was beautiful. And Jimmy Carter was there. And I thought to myself, “Jimmy Carter is happy now because he will go down as being a brilliant president by comparison to Joe Biden. He’ll be a brilliant president. He’s going to be known as brilliant by comparison.” So we have to stop the invasion.
(05:56) We have to bring down our energy. I say all the time, we have more liquid gold under our feet than any other nation anywhere in the world. And we have to stop the crime and we have to help rebuild our cities and we have to rebuild the capitol, Washington DC. I was there when one of the Biden indictment trials. This is the only person, this never happened before, but I go to a lot of courthouses because of Biden, because they’re using that for election interference. And it’s on things like election. And I don’t know if you know, but they did polls tonight on the election of 2020.
(06:33) Do you believe it was honest or not? 82% said it was not. And we can’t have that, Chairman. We can’t have that. You can’t have a situation like that. So we’re going to straighten out our elections. We’re going to do a lot of great things. We’re going to try and go to paper ballots as soon as possible. Voter ID, one day elections. We have these elections that last for 62 days. And if you need some more time, take as much time as you want. And so many bad things happen.
(07:07) We have to get rid of mail-in ballots because once you have mail-in ballots, you have crooked elections. Actually, Jimmy Carter’s commission said that a long time ago. We’re going to rescue our economy. We’re going to save our economy. We had the greatest economy in the history of our country. There was never a greater economy, and now we don’t. And when you look at what’s happened with inflation, inflation is destroying… They call it a country killer going back hundreds of years. Germany… Countries that had big inflation are dead.
(07:39) They become dead countries. We have to stop that immediately and we want peace through strength. Russia would’ve never attacked Ukraine, would’ve never done it. Putin and I get along fine. We get along very well. That’s a good thing, not a bad thing. The fake news, which I would… If the fake news would become real and honest news, 90% of our problems in this country would be solved. They would be solved. So Russia would’ve never attacked. Israel would’ve never been attacked. The Ukraine situation is so horrible.
(08:20) The Israeli situation is so horrible. What’s happened? And we’re going to get them solved. We’re going to get them solved very fast. I actually said, “Ukraine, I know President Putin very well. I know Zelenskyy very well. I’m going to get him and we’re going to get it solved very quickly.” Should have never happened, would’ve never happened. Now you have all that death, far greater than people understand. The numbers are far, far greater than anybody would even think possible. You’re going to find that out in the years to come.
(08:49) When they knocked down these massive buildings in Ukraine and then you see they announced two people were slightly wounded. No, no many people were killed. Many people were killed. We’re going to get it stopped. But it’s so sad because it should have never started, people killed and a culture destroyed. You can never replace thousand year old buildings with the most beautiful golden domes and churches and everything, just all rubble now. And it’s so sad, would’ve never, ever happened.
(09:19) And likewise, Israel would’ve never been attacked. It all comes from Iran. And we would’ve had a deal with Iran very quickly, had the election where we, by the way, got… And I say we because it’s all we. We got more votes than any sitting president in the history of our country. But they say we lost by a whisker. But regardless of that, we’re going to do incredible things and we’re not going to let China do what they’d like to do. I get along great with him also, President Xi. He’s a very strong leader, and we’re going to get things solved.
(09:59) We’re going to get the Ukraine war solved. We’re going to get the Israeli situation solved. But if you think back to that, Iran was broke. I said to every country, anybody does business with Iran, buys oil from Iran. They were broke. We’re not going to let you do business in the United States. And that’s the way it is. They did very little business, almost sold no oil. Nobody wanted to do that. That’s a big penalty. And what happened is they had no money to give to Hamas and to give to Hezbollah. And in fact, there were a lot of stories at the time.
(10:36) They had no money for terror. And for four years, we had no terror. We had the terror ban, we had the terror ban. They called it the Trump travel ban. But it was really the Trump terror ban. We don’t want people in our country that are going to blow up our shopping centers. Thank you very much. And we want a country of law and order. So we’re going to rebuild the capital of our country, Washington DC. We’re going to scrub those beautiful marble columns and get the [inaudible 00:11:07] stickers off them. And we’re going to scrub them and get the graffiti off them.
(11:11) And we’re going to clean the streets and we’re going to rebuild the streets. And we’re not going to have rusted medians through the middle that are falling down into the roads where foreign dignitaries from all over the world come and they look. And we’re not going to be riding on top of garbage like I did just a month ago, riding on top of garbage. We’re going to rebuild our beautiful Washington DC and we’re going to take control of it. And we’re going to make unbelievably harsh penalties for people that go around shooting.
(11:41) Last week they shot three people. And every night something happens. It’s so sad. And likewise, we’re going to rebuild our cities and we’ll work with the Democrats to do it. I’d be glad to work with the people in New York. We’re going to work with the people in Chicago and LA. We’re going to rebuild our cities and we’re going to make them safe. And we’re going to give our police officers immunity. So every time they do something, they don’t get sued and stopped. We’re going to end crime in our cities.
(12:14) In Iowa, you don’t know what that means, but I’ll tell you, this is a different place. You don’t know about crime. You don’t know about getting mugged and getting whacked and getting thrown into subways. And we’re going to stop it, and we’re going to come down very hard on criminals and we’re going to stop crime in America. So I want to just finish by saying that this has been an incredible experience. The people have been… This is the third time we’ve won, but this is the biggest one.
(12:47) They said, “Well, if you win by 12%, that’s a big win. That’s going to be very hard to do.” Well, I think we’ve more than doubled that, I guess, tripled it maybe. They said you’ll never get over 50. And I just left and we were at 54. Now, I don’t know what’s going to happen with it, but they said, “You can’t do that, sir.” I said, “What’s about the highest?” “Well, you could get into the forties, maybe 40, 41.” And then I look up and it was very interesting. I didn’t know they called it early. I thought that they called it at about 10 o’clock. My impression. See, this gentleman, we built…
(13:19) He’s dressed like a wall. I love this guy. He’s been at 150 rallies probably, right? He has the most beautiful outfit I’ve ever seen. It’s all beautiful brick. Will you come up here? Just come up here. Come on. It’s so nice to see, right? Come on up here. He’s emblematic of what we did. We built over 500 miles of wall. We were going to add another 200 miles. It’s much more than we promised. And we had the safest border in the history of our country. Now we have the worst border in the history of the world. Look at this, man.
Thank you. I love that outfit. I love him. That’s great. We love it. That’s a hot selling jacket, by the way. But that represents what we did. No, we built a tremendous… That’s the reason. And we got Mexico to give us 28,000 soldiers free. And we had remained in Mexico and we had catch and release in Mexico, and we did a job. We had the safest border in our history. We had the greatest economy in our history. We were a great nation three years ago. And now we’re a nation in decline. We are going to turn it around so fast. It’s going to happen so fast.
(14:42) We’re going to drill. We’re going to make great. We have great wealth. We’re going to drill. We’re going to use that money to lower your taxes even further. We gave you the biggest tax cut in history, and we’re going to lower them further. And we’re also going to pay off national debt. It’s about time. It’s about time. So it’s now off to New Hampshire, a great place. We won it last time and we won it both times and we love it. The people are great. But the truth is, the people in our country are great.
(15:12) They’re all great. We love Iowa, but they’re all great. They only want to see one thing. They want our country to come back. They’re embarrassed by what’s going on. Our country is laughed at all over the world. They’re laughing at us, and they want our country to come back. They want America. They want us to be great again. It’s a very simple MAGA, Make America Great Again. And America first. America first is a very important part of MAGA.
So we’re going to put America first. We’re going to make America great again. Again, Iowa, we love you. You are going to… You just go out and buy larger tractors and more land. Don’t worry about it. And to all of the people standing behind me and all of the people in this room, and so many great politicians and great dignitaries and friends, I just want to thank you all. This is a very special night. And this is the first, because the big night is going to be in November when we take back our country.
(16:25) And truly, we do make our country great again. Thank you very much everybody. Great honor. Thank you very much. Thank you.

So I ask you to think for yourself and ask what lies were CNN or MSNBC hosts talking about – specifically?
My takeaway is that hate becomes your “uniform” where it is worn on your sleeve so everyone knows real feelings and everyone can judge for themselves.
Hate is often caused by anger, fear and unforgiveness, which is like someone taking a poison and then expecting the other person to die from that poison. – RTM
Although I tend to shy away from televised news “political” hit jobs, one of the benefits of working out at my local gym is that I get to see the headlines while treading on the mill. This morning a prominent story making the rounds was that hundreds of Biden White House workers are planning on striking over Biden’s support of Israel policy.
Now this may sound callous but that is a most effective way of “cleaning” out WH workers who are more worried over policy than their federal employment. It would seem that getting caught up in the “strike” crowd is going to have some pretty serious consequences.
“It’s the law. Specifically, 5 U.S.C. §7311, specifies that federal employees may not participate in a strike, assert the right to strike, or even belong to a union that “asserts the right to strike against the government of the United States.” Driving the point home, 18 U.S.C. §1918 makes it a felony to strike against the United States or belong to a union that asserts the right to strike against the United States. What’s more, the Office of Personnel Management can declare an individual who participates in a strike unsuitable for federal employment – Forever.”
I would hope that the Biden DOJ would take serious action to insure that EVERY possible measure is taken against those who even consider striking.
But then in reality it’s the Biden administration that has a habit of ignoring reality. – RTM
We see it in sports, action movies and reality shows on cable television and it’s very obvious in politics and religion. Advertising companies make commercials catering to it and neighbors let you know it. I’m talking about the pride of the human spirit.
We want the world to know that we are the most powerful, strongest and mightiest – we are the Kings of the Jungle. This invisible persona that we put out there for everyone to see isn’t fooling anyone, but ourselves.
The intelligence of man is a mere pittance, a drop in the bottom of the bucket when compared to the mind of Almighty God who created everything by His Word.
In our battle for the hearts and minds of others we tend to forget that it is us who must humble and submit ourselves (mind, body and spirit) in order that the will of God be done in our lives. After all it is our responsibility, our duty to do everything as if unto the Lord and to live a life that is pleasing to God.
How can we if we don’t pray constantly, read God’s Word daily, fellowship with other believers regularly and do communion with God to celebrate the price Jesus paid on the cross for OUR SINS?
So in our quest to be the fastest, the strongest, the mightiest of warriors don’t forget that God holds all of creation in the palm of His hands. The air we breathe, the heartbeat in our chests, and every fiber of our being are because of the will of God for our life and for His purpose, honor and glory.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
Do you want to be the bigger man or woman (only two)? Submit yourselves unto God, ask Him to forgive your sin and give you eternal life. – RTM
While watching the multiple television screens at the gym this morning, the one on Fox News flashed what appeared to be a polling question after the last GOP caucus in Iowa, “Why do you support President Trump”? Although I couldn’t hear the announcer or read his comments from across the room and since leaving the gym I’ve had ample time to process the question and here is my answer”
Speaking for myself:
He’s the only candidate with the knowledge, foresight and experience to take what America has become and the vision to take us to a higher level of what America could be.
Trump’s message has not changed one bit from coming down the escalator and announcing his bid for the presidency until today, therefore he doesn’t have to “prove” himself with bravado and false promises.
Trump says what he means and means what he says, straightforward and upfront both domestically at home and abroad in foreign affairs. His intent is clear to both his personal and political enemies and to the enemies of the United States – America First!
I know you’re going to say there are some really good people running for the highest office of the land, but they are not nor have been fighting for the very soul of our nation, like #45 has done from 2015.
My question is do they have what it takes to stand up to corrupt politicians and enemies (foreign and domestic) of our nation to the point of making those hard decision with even harder consequences? Or will they simply stand down as most politicians do when the going gets hard?
The weeding out process has already claimed victims and yet Trump continues to weather the personal attacks with the same inner strength and determination he has had in business.
Trump’s vision for a greater America may rest in the plans God intended when he birthed America to be the light of “Freedom” unto the world.
Now I’m not insinuating or attributing the vestiges of sainthood to Donald Trump for he is far from perfect, but I am saying that the best place for Trump to be is in the perfect will for what God has selected him for.
If God has chosen Donald J. Trump (and I believe He has) for such a time as this, then I will stand beside Trump wholeheartedly without reservation or apology because of what God has said in prophesy about Trump and the United States.
No matter what is happening in world events or in our country I rest easy knowing that ultimately God is on His throne and is in complete control.
The key to a successful presidency is not just getting the votes. It is providing for the safety and security of American citizens by securing our borders, building up our military and stressing the importance of America’s personal and national dependence on Almighty God.
Trump has been chosen by God for such a time as this to combat political correctness and to stop evil.
He’s the right man for the job.
So instead of trashing Trump, pray for him as if your freedom depends upon it – Because it does! – RTM
When the Yankee settlers had decided enough is enough what did they do?
Over the course of time they became united in the establishment of a society recognizing that all men were created equal by God with certain alienable rights that were worth fighting for and the most important of those rights was freedom to worship and obey God and the natural order of things which He created. It’s important to note that for those who do not know, history tends to repeat itself.
Here we are today, almost 250 years later debating whether it is honorable to fight for democracy or freedom. The fate of one directly affects and will result in the loss of the other. So think about which is more important to you?
The freedom to vote for a democracy could be a vote to eliminate the freedom to vote (read it again slowly).
Every American election is important. It is the exercise of a constitutional right of citizenship. During a presidential election it is vital that the candidates not only be qualified to run, but capable of looking out for the safety and welfare of the entire population.
It is equally vital for voters to be qualified AND properly registered in order to exercise their right to vote. It should never be a vote for a political party, but for the individual candidate who best represents the voter’s personal interests.
Voters should be knowledgeable of what the U.S. Constitution says and the responsibilities of citizenship as well as the roles and authority given to government by the people (citizens). When corruption in government leads to subsidizing and protecting law breakers while penalizing law abiding citizens, everybody loses. It is election year in America and the roots of our government are broken resulting in a grossly divided nation where freedom is no longer free.
Americans live by the integrity of their name. Politicians leave behind a track record.
Do not look at the best dressed, most savvy or smooth talking candidate(s) but follow their record of accomplishments (family, business or politics) and understand that lipstick and makeup on a polecat does not make it something it is not.
Begin by asking yourself the hard questions (what’s important to you) and looking at the candidates answers to those hard questions.
There may be a lot of good people running for political office from dog catcher to president, but what is their agenda? What are their promises? Have they made promises in the past? Have they kept those promises?
Democracies offer the freedom to comply with rules and mandates. Failure to comply will result in the loss of the basic freedom to choose.
America has never been a democracy. The United States of America is a constitutional-republic and the only one in the world, founded and established on godly principles – Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. – RTM
