When God created mankind Adam had a mind to freely choose doing right or wrong. When Moses came down from the mountain it was with tablets of stone to guide the people in what God said to do or not do. Over time man created many religions with rules of what constituted acceptable conduct in the eyes of religion, but God had declared that in his eyes wrong doing was sin and the penalty for sin was the spilling of blood leading to death. Religion declared that sin could be overcome by contrite penitence and a very specific set of rituals.
Penitence and Rituals cannot save you.
God sent his son Jesus born of a virgin and raised as a God fearing man without sin. Jesus was a living human sacrifice who lay down his life to pay the penalty for the sins of the world so that all who believed in him would be saved from death and given the free gift from God which is eternal life.
Jesus declared that he is the life, the truth and the only way to the Father.
Only Jesus can save you.
In this world that we live in we are told that the governments of man can meet your every need. They cannot. We look to politicians and political leaders for the answer, but politics IS the problem.
Men cry “Peace, Peace” but there can be no peace. Without God there will be no peace – ever.
Until the people of this world realize that in their sinful state they need a savior and drop to their knees in humble submission to the King of all Kings, the Alpha and the Omega, the name above all names and plead for forgiveness of their sin (past, present and future) and ask Jesus into their hearts as Lord and Savior – there will be no peace.
Where are you in this walk we call life?
Do you know Jesus?
Jesus loves you so much that he suffered and died on the cross at Calvary so you could have eternal life and reside in heaven with him.
You have the right to choose – will you choose Jesus? – RTM
This is going to be a really short blog (maybe). When politicians get outta line, the threat of a public trial usually causes them to resign and disappear while their legacy lives on.
Presidential Impeachment
Article II, Section 4: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, treason, bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors.”
Andrew Johnson was impeached by the House and acquitted by the Senate in 1868.
Think of Richard Nixon who ended his term because of the Watergate scandal at the Democratic National Headquarters under the threat of impeachment. His successor was former Speaker of the House Gerald Ford argued on the floor of the House that “high crimes and misdemeanors” should be defined as “whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers them to be at a moment in history.”
The indiscretions of William Jefferson Clinton in the Oval Office brought Impeachment by the House and acquittal by the Senate in 1999 because his misconduct didn’t threaten the nation and therefore not impeachable.
I guess it was no greater misconduct than that of John Fitzgerald Kennedy or Lyndon Baines Johnson during their tenures in the office as president.
How things changed in 2017 making Donald Trump the first ever elected president to be impeached twice by the House without hesitation and acquitted by the Senate. Trump was then charged with leading an insurrection on January 6th 2022, and followed by charges of possession of classified documents in his residence in Mar Largo after leaving office, leading to the current public trial in court and in the court of public opinion during the 2023 election campaign cycle to hinder his bid to return to the White House. While his “misconduct” didn’t threaten the nation, it threatened the security of his political rivals. You got to love the democratic flavor of politics. Elections have consequences! – RTM
Don’t you just hate when talking to us old timers that we keep bringing up the good old days? I mean life was slower, simpler and everything was good, except walking up hill (both ways) to and from school in the snow.
It’s hard to believe that when I was a young man after graduating high school I left home without a care in the world, or any idea of where I would go or what I would do. I had a HS buddy who dropped out of school after the junior year and joined the army. He went airborne and volunteered for Vietnam. In the meantime I went to his folk’s dairy farm to stay while working my dead end job at a movie theater.
Then mom came to my rescue, she had a friend who got me a job as an auto parts delivery driver and she got me a room at a boarding house where the bathroom was down the hall.
I had my car, (a 58 Pontiac Chieftain) which I had “borrowed” from my dad and my girl (Linda). Every week we went to the drive in, drove the strip and usually got stopped by the same city cop for being the slowest across the starting line when the light turned green. Yes those were the good old days.
Life was good.
One day a friend of a friend came over and talked me into joining the army with him on the “Buddy Basic” program. I had just turned 18 and didn’t need permission, but mom gave me her blessing anyway. Looking back it was probably obvious to everyone except me that I was a fish floundering aimlessly without any direction or goals.
I did love to drive and the army trained me to be a truck driver. I went from no goals or ambitions to learning to stand on my own two feet, do things I never dreamed I could do and not being dependent upon my family back home. While I was in Southeast Asia (Thailand) my buddy came home from Vietnam a totally changed man. There’s a saying that when you go back home it’s just not the same. After 3 years in the military I found that to be true, not that everything or everyone else had changed, but I was a changed man too.
During my overseas tour I got married, came home with a child on the way. I couldn’t find a job that satisfied my need to care for my family with stability or my desire for adventure. After two years I joined the army once again and this time made a career out of it.
When I look back over my life I see that I made lots of mistakes. However it is learning from those mistakes that helped form me into the man I am today. My family has grown with kids and grandkids grown and great grandkids growing up fast.
I’m not a jack-of-all-trades but I have mastered a few and have been around the block a few times. I have a wealth of skills and information which I’m willing to share with anyone who will listen. If I don’t have answers I know many people who do.
Have you ever gone to a bluegrass festival……in Japan? It’s a hoot and a holler (phonetically speaking mind you). I went to one in style – riding for more than an hour inside a buttoned up motorcycle sidecar in the rain. It was a most memorable experience, to say the least. – RTM
Do you ever wonder what two topics can stir up division, hate and love all at the same time and at the drop of a hat, maybe it is because they are one and the same?
Religion tends to bind the follower to the letter of the law or teachings of a church, denomination or order. Violating those teachings can lead to expulsion and banishment or imprisonment, and even separating families. Politics can have the same effect. It has been said that every coin has two sides and for those who have chosen the other side the consequences can be very different.
When God sent his Son, Jesus, into the world it was much the same as it is today. God’s chosen people of Israel were in double bondage to the religious leaders and to the Roman governor and his occupying army. It could be even worse if one happened to be a servant.
It was expected that when the Messiah came he would free God’s chosen people from all oppression and life would be infinitely and immediately better.
When Jesus began his ministry on earth he told everyone, “The Son of man came to seek and save the lost.” Luke 19:10 and after 3 short years it was the religious leaders who turned Jesus over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified. It was so disheartening and disappointing for Jesus’ followers and yet God’s chosen people were still under the yoke of religious leaders and Rome.
Before Jesus ascended into Heaven he told his disciples “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:3-4 NIV
Today the world is in exactly the same place, under bondage to religion and politics. Every nation answers to religious and political leaders and people are in virtual servitude (bondage if you will) to jobs or government programs often administered by religious organizations claiming to help, but in many cases seeking to extend or expand their outreach to others.
Religion says adhere to our doctrine. Politics says we are here for your benefit.
All religion and all political parties promise the same thing and will take their followers to exactly the same place – and it’s not Heaven. The wages of sin is death.
One-on-One Relationship with Jesus offers eternal life and is the only way to Heaven.
Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
It is up to us to recognize our sinful nature and ask God for forgiveness and then turn away from sin to follow Jesus. – RTM
Zechariah 4:6 (New English Translation) – Therefore he told me, “This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by strength and not by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Don’t get me wrong, Almighty God is in control. Nothing takes God by surprise or happens without His permission or purpose and evil never triumphs over God.
Men and women in power are in many ways tempted with money or more power. Those who resist are hounded, badgered and chastised until they give up, give in or simply go away. That is the way of politics.
Christians are gap fillers, prayer warriors and in many cases the last hope in seeking God to move in a given situation, but God is not a Genie in a bottle to grant three wishes when times are rough. In fact when it comes to thinking outside the box, remember it was God who created the box.
As I’ve previously written in 2015 prominent Texas Christian businessman Lance Wallnau was given a word from God concerning Donald J. Trump and his run for the presidency. It was a word that had to be spoken to and over Trump during a meeting at Trump Towers in New York City.
Referencing Isaiah 45, the appointment of King Cyrus, Lance said that God’s hand was on him, ‘The next President of the United States will be the forty-fifth president, and he will be an Isaiah 45 president.’ ‘Donald Trump is a wrecking ball to the spirit of political correctness.’ and to restrain evil. It wasn’t a long drawn out affair and the implications were yet to be seen.
When Trump felt God was calling him, instead of ignoring the call, Trump began calling prominent Christian men and women to pray for him. During the 2015-16 campaign seasons Trump went from political unknown to the most hated man in politics, bar none.
The election was the upset of the century as Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton was their favorite to win. Across the aisle nobody (Democrats or Republicans) felt Trump was qualified to win or equipped to become the most powerful head of state in the world.
During the Inauguration of the 45th President – Donald J. Trump was met with a full-on assault to him personally, his family and to his administration, but it was just the icing on the cake.
I often ask myself did Trump think it was worth it. I know the answer, yes if God is behind it, it’s worth it. So why did he do it? Why not wimp out and like Moses and other profits of old and tell God the excuses of why he picked the wrong guy?
I can tell you that is not Trump’s character.
I doubt that when Trump heard he was to restrain evil he had any idea how much evil would rise up against him. Even when Trump told his supporters “they are not after me, but after you and I’m just in the way” did he fully comprehend how much evil?
God knew how to stroke Trump’s ego by saying he would become an Isaiah 45 President and is a wrecking ball to the spirit of political correctness. But did Trump have any idea what that entailed?
Now nowhere have I found that when God calls a man or woman to accomplish any particular task or ministry, he puts an “end date” on the task. Yet I suspect that Trump sort of knew that because he hadn’t finished the work God sent him to do, he thought or at least suspected he’d get another term.
As we can see, God had other plans. Among those plans was to expose the political corruptness for what it really is, and show publicly how confident evil paraded itself around humiliating and demeaning the sitting President of the USA, both in and out of office.
Not counting the impeachment trials and countless unfounded accusations there was no public acknowledgements of Trump’s accomplishments which affected the stability of the world in which we live. And then there were the “important” politicians who died in office or after leaving office and publically Trump was forbidden from attending their funerals or memorial services.
I mean who does that? Out of spite or fear?
It really brought out the character of those who made those decisions and of those who coward down in compliance before them.
And who doesn’t know that self-quarantine, masks, vaccines, travel and work restrictions, fear and the lot were actually a test of compliance that the entire world flunked. Oh they were compliant, but flunked because it made on sense or difference on the Chinese virus.
What should have been the last straw was the 2020 election fraud perpetuated on Americans in public view worldwide. But actually what we’ve seen since is the manipulation of power in order to prepare for the next phase of world domination where the United States has been dealt a death blow.
We are told things are looking up, going according to plan, and better days are ahead.
Are they really? According to whose plan?
Will there even be a 2024 election? Plans for a One World Government do not include that of a lone Constitutional-Republic. Our economy is purposefully meant to implode and the only thing we can do is pray. – RTM
Questioning DOJ Presidential Protection Protocol vs Breaking the Law
All the current publicity over Trumps classified document and January 6th raise a number of unspoken questions as to what Law Enforcement Officers, namely the Presidential Details of Secret Service allow to “slip” past them should the actions of the protectee become unlawful. Let us take a brief look back at former presidents who even by today’s “standards” did things that make Trump look like a choirboy.
Need I say more than JFK and Marilyn Monroe and the office of the Attorney General under Robert Kennedy – was the protective detail so incompetent or did they stand by outside the makeshift bedroom door insuring nobody entered or left until the deed was done? JFKs assassination raises questions even today, how was it even allowed to happen?
Next was LBJ who had “sexual encounters” IN THE OVAL OFFICE. LBJ had a bell or buzzer installed so he could be warned when Lady Bird ventured to interrupt his conquests.
When the Watergate scandal occurred, where was the protective detail and why did they not intervene? It led to Nixon’s downfall and resignation.
There were Reagan’s arms to the Sandinista rebels involving Oliver North that took his administration by surprise, no protective detail involvement in a law enforcement capacity?
Then there was WJC who routinely snuck away and flew off to Epstein Island without his detail? How in the world did that occur with the protective HRC hovering nearby?
Then where was BHO, HRC and other government leaders during the Benghazi incident? What about those secretly given missiles to Syria that was the premise of the debacle? Or the secret server in HRCs residence used for official State Department communications with the President, and nobody knew about it? Yet Michelle could as First Lady go into Walmart undercover and nobody recognized her (or the detail that protected her)?
Another telltale sign of obvious suspicion was when a female secret service on the presidential detail refused to protect newly elected President Trump and she was simply reassigned to other duties. But when all the accusations of wrongdoings is brought up against Trump were there no secret service agents to stand up and say what really happened or didn’t happen?
I leave you with this question – is the Secret Service not part of the DOJ’s law enforcement agency? Do they not have an obligation to speak up and say “No Mr. President that is against the law?”
What about after leaving office, does the detail of any protectee simply act as chauffeurs, doormen or women, personal butlers or are they not agents of law enforcement? – RTM
I’m not a sports fanatic and from what I know is every team has their own playbook. Coaches keep that confidential, while other coaches would like to know what’s in it. They want to understand where the other team is coming from so they can counter their plays and win the game.
The name of the game is to “WIN”.
The game of politics has pretty much the same goal, get the votes to win.
What I fail to understand is why political parties “over use” their playbook?
Years ago Donald Trump made it known in his business organization that publicity (good or bad) is publicity that has people talking about him and is publicity he doesn’t have to pay for it.
In politics Trump made Make America Great Again (MAGA) his mantra and America First his patriotic slogan. Instead of excluding voters, he encouraged them. Trump became a threat to Democratic politics as usual, where it was all about power over people.
Also years ago a man named Saul Alinsky wrote a book for radicals in which he gave steps to take to basically take down an organization, corporation or anyone who disagrees. The premise of his book was to identify, isolate and target someone using their words, or lacking that making stuff up. When others come forward to help, they become targets too and truth has nothing to do with it.
The Democratic political machine saw Donald Trump as an immediate threat and responded accordingly using the Alinsky playbook. In essence they attempted to change the outcome of the 2016 election and upon the inauguration of newly elected President Trump their efforts were that of an insurrection or coup to take down the sitting President of the United States.
Many congressional Democrats boycotted the inauguration, made public threats against the President, his family and his administration and took action to discredit newly appointed Trump cabinet members. Going further there were allegations of sexual misconduct, presidential misconduct resulting in two impeachments all based on false information.
There were allegations of election fraud which was contested by President Trump and led to the J6 allegation of insurrection (Trump tried to take down the duly elected head of state = Himself) before the certification of Electoral College ballots had been announced before the required joint session of Congress.
There were efforts by House Democrats to strip all rights and privileges of a former president from Trump after he left office. Then came the allegations of classified documents held by former President Trump which led to a massive and televised FBI raid of Mar Largo to “recover” those classified documents, and the subsequent first of its kind ever, ongoing investigation and publicly televised trial of a former president (Trump) during the 2023 campaign season prior to the upcoming 2024 Election in an attempt to prevent Trump’s bid for another term as President.
Strategies are meant to outdo the other side, but once your playbook has been “over used” or compromised its time to change it or switch playbooks. Alinsky said that you must have fun but “not over use” his tactics or they lose their effectiveness and your people lose interest.
What I see happening is people are seeing past the obvious gas lighting of America and democrats and republicans are separating themselves from the mainstream party lines as they begin thinking for themselves and see this trial simply as a political stunt.
There are barriers being erected around the courthouse before former President Trump makes his appearance in court as the trial is set to begin.
It makes me wonder why no barriers were erected around the Capital building prior to J6, was not President Trump’s prior authorization to Congressional leaders to activate National Guard troops taken seriously?
Why was the only casualty on J6 an unarmed and petite female named Ashlee Babbitt?
There are so many unanswered questions as to the political motives of everything our elected officials on both sides of the isle have done over the past 6+ years that we have not gotten answers to. Why? – RTM
Believe it or not we’re in presidential election campaign season again and this time it’s for the 2024 election. In my opinion the spin is on – big time.
If you watch the news, White House press briefings or internet “click bait” ads you might believe that President Biden is a good president, at least better than Trump; Global Warming is caused by burning fossil fuels; and eVehicles are good for the environment; or the most obvious elephant in the room is that Trump’s crime of being in possession of classified documents will keep him out of campaigning and make him the worst possible candidate for the office of President. The spin from the left is that Trump’s MAGA followers have abandoned him during his time of need and none of the GOP or DNC candidates, for that matter, can beat President Biden in his bid for re-election.
Congressional Democrats are on the warpath (sorry my Indian friends) courting the LGBTQ+ Trans and Abortion Right votes by siding with them, even against common sense while at the same time beating the TDS drum of everything wrong in America and the environment is Trump’s fault.
Congressional Republicans while working to stem the outgoing funds which increase the national debt are a bit “soft” on addressing the real problem plaguing Congress – the Democratic idea that a Democratic-Republic would be better than the Constitutional-Republic for our country. It would change some fundamental standards in our rule of law and lead to a dictatorial head of state, no different than that of third world socialist or communist nations with the word “Democratic” in their nation’s official titles.
You don’t have to take my word for any of this, but just look around and you can’t miss it.
Any time you have public “trial” of a former president, running and campaigning for office of President, where the theme is obviously “guilty until proven innocent” in the court of public opinion, it is a perversion of the Constitutional right guaranteeing the accused is “Innocent until proven guilty” in a court of law with a fair and impartial jury of ones peers.
The “down side” is that the publicity (good or bad) being given to Donald Trump is more valuable because it is free and exposes the democratic left for their TDS hypocrisy and those who count Trump out as a viable candidate and presidential front runner just don’t know “jack” about Trump.
We’ve heard and seen for years that Trump is someone who gives and keeps his word when it comes to making America better than ever. So having him out of the show and tell campaign debates gives everyone a chance to hear promises and how they alone are the antidote to what ails our nation.
What America needs in a leader is someone with a clear vision ahead and the ability to take America down that path to become that shining city upon a hill once again.
Who’s your favorite?
Can he/she do it?
Really?
You have the right to scroll by or ignore all the hype going on around you, it’s like chaff in the wind or you can and should pay attention to the details. You will after all suffer the consequences. – RTM
I firmly believe it’s on the voter who goes to Washington and it’s on the voter who keeps these “Homestead Politicians” in office, but more importantly it’s on the elected official who after a taste of power refuses to let go. I really don’t follow politics as closely as I used to and I’ve written blogs about elected officials who never give up their “remote” control.
In the news lately are three examples of politicians who’ve spent their entire adult life working as “public servants” in Congress and are well past going to a retirement home where they can play bingo and/or watch old westerns on television.
The first and most prominent figure is President Joe Biden who’s only notable job outside of congress was a failed business venture as a lawyer. Once JB went to Washington he never left, except to follow a fellow and very junior Senator into the White House in 2009 and after a 4 year hiatus, JB re-emerged as the Democratic front runner and totally unexpected occupant of the White House against DJT. Need I say more? I think not. The second is lifetime Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein of California whose cognitive skills in office are showing the need for her to leave office and politics altogether. The third is lifetime Republican Senator Mitch McConnell who also is showing signs of aging that could leave a dark stain his political legacy.
They are not the only ones either. Out of 535 congressional seats there are a number of other Senators and Representatives who truly need to leave office. I don’t mean retire either. I mean there should never be a career field called Public Service. Politicians are answerable to their constituents and should be held fully accountable for their actions representing American citizens and/or the states in which they were elected. If being a Public Servant truly were a job, so many elected officials should have been fired a long time ago.
And then there are those political hot shots that after being elected grab the headlines but have no idea how to help the voters who elected them. Their gift is personal and financial gratification and once they are gone they fade away faster than a hot red car in the Colorado sun.
Back in the olden days old mares and old studs were turned out to pasture, spending their final days lazing and grazing their final days, while young heifers and wild studs often ended up sold, traded or passed on to the glue factory. – RTM
News reports about President Biden’s signing a proclamation to establish a historical monument dedicated to a 14-year old Emmett Till and his mother Mamie Till Mobley would be commendable if it were not so hypocritical.
Yes I said hypocritical, in that the past 5 years (and longer) efforts supported by members of Congress have condoned and supported the tearing down of historical monuments which they considered offensive because they were monuments to historical military and political leaders of the Civil War era.
It is a federal offense to deface, vandalize or destroy government property, including monuments, not to mention it is a waste of valuable resources and taxpayer funds. Yet during the previous administration DHS, DOJ, Federal and State law enforcement agencies did little to hold accountable those who committed these horrendous acts of terror in public, during daylight or at night.
Instead under the prodding of a Democratic lead-Congress national and state law enforcement agencies seemed deeply committed to hunting down, arresting and confining anyone publicly supporting the sitting POTUS Donald J. Trump.
Not once did I hear anything from the former Obama Administration or then former Vice President Joe Biden to stop the vandalizing of monuments and statues. There was no widespread manhunt to identify, track down and arrest those vandals
I’d like to know how many were actually held accountable or how many monuments or statues were restored?
We must learn from history, not recreate our own version of history and pass it off as fact. It’s been said that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Are we not headed down that road again?
For those who say America was built on slavery I say Hogwash! As a nation America was founded on biblical principles. It was men and women who saw opportunities to make money on the human slave trade which for many blacks began in their villages in Africa where they were kidnapped, abducted, transported and sold first to slave trader ship captains and then to the auction blocks in south and central America, before ever entering the North American continent where these people were parsed out individually to work in the fields and households of prominent plantation owners across the southeastern United States.
We must not forget that slavery came in all forms from European indentured servants, Chinese railroad and cleaning jobs or as Indian slaves taken by raiding parties or from human sex trafficking. These are all a part of the American experience and not exclusive to any one race or ethnic origin.
If taking down monuments or statues were of any historical significance, then I say go to Wall Street and take down the BULL for it signifies what the bible says that “the love of money is the root of all evil.” – RTM
