Remember What Trump Did To Our Democracy?
The current democratic narrative is that MAGA-land is sliding toward a potential Trump dictatorship. They asked that all important question, “remember what Trump did to our democracy”?
What comes to my mind is Pelosi’s fortified, fenced in “Temp of Democracy” AFTER January 6th, 2021.
The US of A is and always has been a Constitutional-Republic where the Rule of Law IS the Constitution, not some progressive democratic communist charter aimed at changing the nation into a Constitutional-Democracy. But since they asked I do remember what Trump did with an Obama-lead divided nation and it is not, nor ever intended to be a democracy.
In 2015 when Trump said he would build a wall and drain the swamp he didn’t anticipate how huge the swamp really was. Most American’s didn’t even know there was a swamp until it came at Trump head on and in full force and the swamp has never ceased attempting to derail the Trump presidency,
What Trump did for the nation (not democracy) was to place the world order on notice that America and its allies were a force to be reckoned with and any act of aggression would me met with an unequal yet overwhelming military force the likes of which the world has never seen. Those foreign state actors who sought to challenge it were promptly eliminated.
The economy of the US had been directly impacted by Obamanomics and many manufacturing plants and corporations had moved overseas or outside the contingent US mainland, and Trump began bringing them back. Trump instituted tariffs for goods entering the US from China and others and the playing field began to level.
Trump passed substantially lower tax brackets for US wage earners, enabling them to keep more of their hard earned money.
Trump began funding and building the wall to stem the flow of illegal migrants, drugs and human trafficking across the US/Mexican border and Mexico began paying for it, through sanctions and other legislative actions to keep migrants in Mexico while they applied to enter the US.
During the Chinese Virus crisis sweeping the nation and the world, it was Trump who restricted access from Chinese and select European migrants and tourists from entering the US, to prevent the spread of the virus. When it was discovered that medical equipment and supplies were inadequately low or non-existent it was Trump who combined government, military and civilian assets to begin and/or ramp up production and began exporting supplies to other countries.
It was Trump who ramped up construction of the oil pipeline from Alaska and filled the low to non-existent US oil reserves actions which lead to lower fuel prices across the nation.
Trump also announced to the nations of NATO they would have to pay their fair share for US protection of their homelands and the planned withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.
Trump began rebuilding the US military with new equipment and better training of US personnel.
Trump created the US Space Force as the newest branch of the military.
And it was Trump who created permanent funding of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
So yes I remember what Trump did to Make America Great Again (MAGA) all the while battling the attacks of the American Democratic Communist Party (not the JFK Democratic Party of old).
Lest we forget that Trump is only the third President, to forgo his presidential salary, as he promised at an event in Rochester, New Hampshire, on September 17th, 2015. “The first thing I’m going to do is tell you that if I’m elected president, I’m accepting no salary, okay? That’s not a big deal for me.”
Trivia:
#31 Herbert Hoover – split his presidential salary between a number of charities and his staff’s salary.
#35 John F. Kennedy – gave his presidential salary to charity.
#45 Donald J. Trump – gave his presidential salary into various government agencies.
Oh I long for the good old days where men were men, women were women and America was in her heyday – Great Again. – RTM
Thanks for the review of facts. Too often, we let the Left use terms like “democracy” in their little diatribes, but don’t hold them to task. We need to make them acknowledge that words mean things.
