Freedom Isn’t Free
During recent years congressional democrats have not only inferred but claimed outright superiority of Congress over the office of the President and even the Supreme Court. Have they forgotten that we are not a democracy to be governed or ruled by a tyrannical government?
The US Constitution written in 1787 ratified in 1788 and in operation since 1789 and is the world’s longest surviving written charter of government?
It begins with “We the People” affirming that the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens.
The supremacy of the people through their elected representatives is recognized in Article I, which creates Congress consisting of a Senate and a House of Representatives affirming its status as the “First Branch” of federal government.
The Constitution assigned to Congress responsibility for organizing the executive and judicial branches, raising revenue, declaring war, and making all laws necessary for executing these powers.
The president is permitted to veto specific legislative acts, but Congress has the authority to override presidential vetoes by two-thirds majorities of both houses.
The Constitution also provides that the Senate advise and consent on key executive and judicial appointments and on the approval for ratification of treaties.
For over two centuries the Constitution has remained in force because its framers successfully separated and balanced governmental powers to safeguard the interests of majority rule and minority rights, of liberty and equality, and of the federal and state governments.
More a concise statement of national principles than a detailed plan of governmental operation, the Constitution has evolved to meet the changing needs of a modern society profoundly different from the eighteenth-century world in which its creators lived.
To date, the Constitution has been amended 27 times, most recently in 1992. The first ten amendments constitute the Bill of Rights.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
We are a Constitutional-Republic unlike any other on the face of the earth. People come here for various reasons. First and foremost they want freedom to worship God, raise their families without fear and to work toward what they perceive as their portion of the America Dream.
Where does that America Dream come from? It comes from the very words of the Declaration of Independence written, and then signed on July 4th, 1776. Its words and meaning are what we should read and re-read until we begin to absorb into our very fiber.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.”
We are now at a point in our nation’s history where these words come back to haunt us.
“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
We have a self-absorbing congress where patriotism is deemed un-American and patriots are called enemies of the state, and domestic terrorism is not only acceptable but fully supported from the chamber floors. The subtle shift from the safety and welfare of our citizens to the pandering to foreign invaders with promises of aid and assistance blatantly crosses the line of treason.
The nation is suffering through a Democratically-assisted suicide where greenlighted migrants are being allowed into the nation, unchecked and undocumented during a democratically led pandemic. American families are separated by COVID restrictions; small businesses suffer and are being closed; the national debt ceiling has been blown out of the water by unprecedented spending on non-essential pork projects and being sent to foreign nations, including to enemy states. Americans are enticed with stimulus checks from their own taxpayer dollars just so long as they stay in their lane and do not rock the boat.
Well the good news – Freedom Isn’t Free. It is paid for by the blood of patriotic Americans and by those brave enough to stand on the principle that we must take care of our own before we can take care of anyone else. America First is a necessity in the time we are living. God-fearing hard working men and women with conviction must stand up to oppression in its many forms. That is the American way.
Don’t rely on the depressing propaganda of the news or social media. Turn off the tube, disconnect from the internet, get out of the basement and travel throughout this great nation of ours and you will see that America is alive and well in spite of what you see or hear. The media is at this point non-essential to the American way life. – I am the Real Truckmaster!
