The Mandate – Isaiah 45

In 2015 the world as we know it was about to be turned upside-down and politics would be exposed by a most unlikely person, a man who has everything the world could offer. That man was Donald J. Trump traditionally supporting democrats he defied all logic by choosing to run for the office of President of the United States as a republican candidate.

I too was taken by surprise and feared this was simply a stunt to draw a larger audience to “The Apprentice” and I could not see this having anything to do with what God was about to do with the nation or throughout the world.

Christians throughout the nation and around the world have prayerfully and earnestly sought the Lord to change the course of the country. We have read and believed the stories of the bible that demonstrate the sinful nature of man and the faithfulness of Almighty God. The book of Revelations warns us that in the latter days there will be wars and petulance and earthquakes in diverse places, but there is no mention of America by name.

2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

But would God do it again in modern day America? I have no doubt that when we ask, God will exercise his will not as we want, but according to his perfect will. What was true back in “biblical times” is still true today. God will deliver us and only he knows the plans he has for us or the manner/people he will use to accomplish his purpose.

We ask believing and because God is faithful he sometimes surprises us in ways we can’t imagine or didn’t expect. We see from biblical scriptures that we are unique and wonderfully made. God has a plan for each person and it is evidenced by our birth. Even the lives of the unborn terminated through abortion have a purpose. What the so called experts fail to realize is that the world does not revolve around them. They are not the one who causes the sun to rise or the moon to shine or even the rain to fall.

What we have seen since the 2015 announcement at Trump Tower can only be the forces of evil rising up against the hand of God. Whether or not you believe that is irrelevant because God will prevail. When God calls we can respond or simply ignore the call. We often tell ourselves somebody ought to do something. In the case of Donald J. Trump he did not shy away, but responded by seeking confirmation and support through Christian pastors and leaders.

Those who do not know him were quick to attack his character, his family and as they do today his supporters. They underestimated his resolve and determination. They thought they could drive him away with their non-stop attacks. They could not know, nor would they believe he was to be “the wrecking ball to the spirit of political correctness” and his mandate is to stop evil.

Even today Christians and non-Christians ridicule, mock and continue to attack President Trump simply because of what they see on the news or on the internet and read in the print media. They attack his supporters and think that will drive them away from him. Some have said he is not Christian enough or Presidential enough or savvy in the ways of international negotiations. Trump has been blamed for everything in the world that goes wrong, yet failed to be credited when credit is justly due.

Running on campaign slogans of build the wall and drain the swamp few knew these were more than just slogans. American had been gripped in the political vice of correctness that suppressed the very spirit of God in our nation. Politicians have taken the verbiage of the Constitution, its meaning and purpose and used it for their own political gain and monetary enrichment at the expense of American citizens. Many who enter the halls of Congress become entwined in the “system” that the will of the people is totally lost to the lure and greed of politics.

During 2015 and well before the campaign season had begun a word from God declared that Donald J. Trump would be an Isaiah 45 President. He would not to be a preacher-president but a warrior-president in the likeness of King Cyrus.

Isaiah 45 English Standard Version (ESV)

Cyrus, God’s Instrument

45 Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus,
whose right hand I have grasped,
to subdue nations before him
and to loose the belts of kings,
to open doors before him
that gates may not be closed:
“I will go before you
and level the exalted places,[a]
I will break in pieces the doors of bronze
and cut through the bars of iron,
I will give you the treasures of darkness
and the hoards in secret places,
that you may know that it is I, the Lord,
the God of Israel, who call you by your name.
For the sake of my servant Jacob,
and Israel my chosen,
I call you by your name,
I name you, though you do not know me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;
I equip you, though you do not know me,
that people may know, from the rising of the sun
and from the west, that there is none besides me;
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I form light and create darkness;
I make well-being and create calamity;
I am the Lord, who does all these things.

“Shower, O heavens, from above,
and let the clouds rain down righteousness;
let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit;
let the earth cause them both to sprout;
I the Lord have created it.

“Woe to him who strives with him who formed him,
a pot among earthen pots!
Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’
or ‘Your work has no handles’?
10 Woe to him who says to a father, ‘What are you begetting?’
or to a woman, ‘With what are you in labor?’”

11 Thus says the Lord,
the Holy One of Israel, and the one who formed him:
“Ask me of things to come;
will you command me concerning my children and the work of my hands?[b]
12 I made the earth
and created man on it;
it was my hands that stretched out the heavens,
and I commanded all their host.
13 I have stirred him up in righteousness,
and I will make all his ways level;
he shall build my city
and set my exiles free,
not for price or reward,”
says the Lord of hosts.

The Lord, the Only Savior

14 Thus says the Lord:
“The wealth of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,
and the Sabeans, men of stature,
shall come over to you and be yours;
they shall follow you;
they shall come over in chains and bow down to you.
They will plead with you, saying:
‘Surely God is in you, and there is no other,
no god besides him.’”

15 Truly, you are a God who hides himself,
O God of Israel, the Savior.
16 All of them are put to shame and confounded;
the makers of idols go in confusion together.
17 But Israel is saved by the Lord
with everlasting salvation;
you shall not be put to shame or confounded
to all eternity.

18 For thus says the Lord,
who created the heavens
(he is God!),
who formed the earth and made it
(he established it;
he did not create it empty,
he formed it to be inhabited!):
“I am the Lord, and there is no other.
19 I did not speak in secret,
in a land of darkness;
I did not say to the offspring of Jacob,
‘Seek me in vain.’[c]
I the Lord speak the truth;
I declare what is right.

20 “Assemble yourselves and come;
draw near together,
you survivors of the nations!
They have no knowledge
who carry about their wooden idols,
and keep on praying to a god
that cannot save.
21 Declare and present your case;
let them take counsel together!
Who told this long ago?
Who declared it of old?
Was it not I, the Lord?
And there is no other god besides me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none besides me.

22 “Turn to me and be saved,
all the ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself I have sworn;
from my mouth has gone out in righteousness
a word that shall not return:
‘To me every knee shall bow,
every tongue shall swear allegiance.’[d]

24 “Only in the Lord, it shall be said of me,
are righteousness and strength;
to him shall come and be ashamed
all who were incensed against him.
25 In the Lord all the offspring of Israel
shall be justified and shall glory.”

God saw the potential deep within the heart of the man while men saw only the past to condemn the present. When someone is on a mission ordained by Almighty God there is nothing under heaven or on earth that can stop him until that mission is completed. I caution the people and/or media that create, initiate or spread false witness in order to gain the favor of men for you will reap what you sow. Have you anything to say, let it be kind and uplifting or exercise your right to remain silent. Words bring life or death. – I am the Real Truckmaster!
