Tax the Rich Billionaires Syndrome
The message we hear on television, radio and read on the internet from socialist leftists and others in blue cities and states across the country and then according to NY’s (D) Representative AOC “you can’t earn a billion dollars” as a message to justify this massive collection of other people’s wealth to take care of the poor and make everything okay again.
Doesn’t that sound reasonable?
Tax the super-rich and provide free food, health care for all and higher wages even “pay teachers what their worth”. I hate to say it but if the measure of a teacher’s worth is the education of their students, a great many teachers really aren’t worth that much now are they?
Most of those who cry the loudest are themselves filthy rich based on either family money or the lowly salary of an elected public official. If crime doesn’t pay, surely public service does.
Has anyone heard of the “law of the lid” where nobody rises above the level of the guy at the top? The same principle applies to a city when taxing the rich creates a mass exodus of those with wealth who simply “take their ball” and go somewhere else.
It’s like draining a cesspool until all you have left is a film on the bottom and then it all dries up and blows away. Nowhere on the planet can you stifle capitalism, take other people’s money and give to someone else who hasn’t earned or worked hard for it, and then expect everything to be hunky dory.
If that were the case, Cuba, North Korea, China, Russia and every other dictatorial nation would have been successful a long time ago. Look at Venezuela it only took roughly 25 years to take it from one of the richest countries in South America to complete poverty, where the nation’s wealth was squandered by the ruling regime.
Be careful what you wish for! Keep your eyes on the prize in places like New York City, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, Portland, Oregon and everywhere that the elite electorates peddle their tax the rich scheme. If those ideas sound feasible get in line to hand over YOUR money so someone else doesn’t have to work hard for it.
