One Soldier’s Story

 

Yesterday I sat down with a neighbor who in 1970 was a 16 year old Cambodian boy joined the army to fight against the North Vietnamese army that had invaded Cambodia he rose to the rank of sergeant and was in some of the fieriest fighting imaginable. He was wounded twice, hospitalized and escaped prior to around 250 hospital patients being executed as they lay in their cots. He battled overwhelming odds against superior numbers and a better equipped enemy without food, supplies, ammunition and lying submerged in rice paddies with no protective cover he continued to fight for his family, his land and his country. His story continues until he escaped Cambodia in 1984, made it into Thailand and pled in writing for asylum to the United States. After being accepted he and his wife made their way to Colorado Springs arriving in 1988.

 

His story of the atrocities committed against the Cambodian people even to this day by Vietnamese forces that conquered Vietnam and now basically occupy Cambodia and Laos. The people are still poor with many who survived have nothing of their own.  Many of their educated and professionals and military who fought against the Vietnamese were executed, right down to their newborn babies.

 

It sickens me inside to hear of the atrocities and of the struggle made by him and many others, yet we hear nothing on the news or on TV except that the US is paying for the removal of herbicide remnants from Vietnam, and mines and war explosives from areas in Cambodia and possibly Laos.

 

I’m sure that many here have been involved in activities “across the fence” helping the people defend themselves against North Vietnamese forces during the war, but into the mid-1980s? It’s appalling what man will do to his fellow man, and without batting an eye.

The Rise to Power

 

I’ve seen this quite frequently in the military when someone gets promoted from a private where they are just one of the guys. Once they are selected and promoted into the noncommissioned officer ranks they become the sergeant. The same holds true in corporate America the guy in the next cubicle becomes the lead, gets their own private office and you dare not enter without permission.

 

It should be different with our elected officials. They are the guy or gal next door. Friendly, amiable and someone you can tell your troubles to because they listen and have all the answers, right? Someone might have once said to them, “you ought to run for office”. It happens all the time. Once that seed has been implanted into the mindset of an individual most will simply shrug it off and continue with their life.

 

Take a big city with millions of inhabitants where nobody knows anybody outside their neighborhood. Inner city gangs rule their turf with an iron hand. Nobody crosses them without incurring the wrath of the gang. People go to work before coming home to lock themselves in at night. Just going for a night on the town is dangerous.

 

Suddenly the spark ignites. “You should run for office” becomes more than a passing remark for a neighborhood bartender with sudden political aspirations. Soon a campaign is born and there are banners, slogans and soon facial recognition. A pretty face equals pretty smart, right?

 

After months of campaigning it’s over. The race has been won and pretty face becomes a congresswoman. There’s the eye opening moment when she’s sworn in to office making her official. Then reality sets in she must hire a staff, find an apartment near her work. She meets others both new to Congress and those who’ve obviously been around the block one too many times. She decides she must make a statement that makes her stand out from the crowd.

 

Being a Latina of Puerto Rican ancestry she has that crowd appeal and her former job was her grooming. Yes she must make a statement, pick her battles so to speak. So she does and says all the right things about the topic everyone loves – trashing the sitting President of the United States, besides it’s fashionable and it gets her on a number of committees and working groups. She is a rising star, someone to be reckoned with, she WILL make a difference. In military lingo she’s an “Acting Jack” what we call a shake and bake. Given minimal training and given minimal responsibility over others. Often times it makes their heads swell until they actually think the world revolves around them.

 

Seems kind of odd that it would happen in Congress, but then we don’t really know what happens in Congress do we? There are orientation classes, probably done online, where someone signs a form saying they watched a video or met the training requirements.

 

However in 2019 the norm seems to be using social media (Facebook and Twitter) to get your message across and attacking Donald J. Trump is easy to do. His stand on immigration makes him a logical target for Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). She will destroy him and dismantle his administration so fast that she will be the “Heroine of the Hill”. America will thank her, who knows she could be the first woman president? But first there is one obstacle to overcome – “Madam Speaker”!

 

You may be reading and say that could never happen, but alas it is happening right before your very eyes. @RepAOC is but one of the newcomers to Congress. Each one is charting their own course, have their own personal agenda, have decided to go after and stop Trump at all cost because it’s the party thing to do and it’s fashionable.

 

It has been said that knowledge is power, but a little bit of knowledge can get you into a lot of trouble instead. Showboating for the cameras may seem like a magic bullet, but the political weapon can be pointed right back at you. Remember a door can swing both ways.

 

I had heard that newcomers in the House of Representatives are told to sit down, shut up and open your eyes and ears to learn how things are done. Apparently things have changed and newcomers are thrown into some pretty sensitive and very important committees without any regard for whether or not they should even be there. That falls on the Speaker of the House, which in this case is Nancy Pelosi. Her self-importance may have caused her to act irrationally and the consequences will come back to bite her right where the sun doesn’t shine in the House of the Rising Star! – I am the Real Truckmaster!

My Thoughts on the Secure Fence Act of 2006

(and other immigration issues)

 

The Secure Fence Act of 2006 was passed in 2006 and signed into law by President George W. Bush (R) on October 26, 2006. Its stated purpose was to “establish operational control over the international land and maritime borders of the United States.” Most debate around the law surrounded a provision that required the building of 700 miles of new fencing along the southern border with Mexico. Supporters argued the fence would improve national security and reduce illegal immigration, while opponents argued that the fence would not effectively reduce illegal immigration and could worsen national security. As of 2016, the border with Mexico was lined with 650 miles of partial fencing.

On October 26, 2006, U.S. President George W. Bush signed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 (Pub.L. 109–

367) into law stating, “This bill will help protect the American people. This bill will make our borders more secure. It is an important step toward immigration reform.”

 

The bill was introduced on September 13, 2006 by Congressman Peter T. King, Republican of New York.

In the House of Representatives, the Fence Act passed 283–138 on September 14, 2006.

On September 29, 2006 – the Fence Act passed in the Senate 80–19.

PROVISIONS

 

Border surveillance

Section 2 of the Secure Fence Act directed the secretary of homeland security to implement a system of surveillance for the land and sea borders of the United States, which included the use of the following: [2]

  • unmanned aerial vehicles
  • ground-based sensors
  • satellites
  • radar coverage
  • cameras

 

The law also directed the secretary to make improvements to physical infrastructure related to border security and the duties of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, such as checkpoints, weather access roads, and vehicle barriers. Under this section, the secretary was also given the authority to take all actions necessary and appropriate to deter and prevent unlawful entry into the United States.[2]

 

Border fence

Section 3 of the Secure Fence Act directed the secretary of homeland security to provide for the construction of a double-layered fence through the following areas, totaling 700 miles in length: [2][4]

(i) extending from 10 miles west of the Tecate, California, port of entry to 10 miles east of the Tecate, California, port of entry;

(ii) extending from 10 miles west of the Calexico, California, port of entry to 5 miles east of the Douglas, Arizona, port of entry;

(iii) extending from 5 miles west of the Columbus, New Mexico, port of entry to 10 miles east of El Paso, Texas;

(iv) extending from 5 miles northwest of the Del Rio, Texas, port of entry to 5 miles southeast of the Eagle Pass, Texas, port of entry; and

(v) extending 15 miles northwest of the Laredo, Texas, port of entry to the Brownsville, Texas, port of entry.[5]

The law also directed the secretary to install surveillance cameras along the stretch of fence between Calexico, California, and Douglas, Arizona.[2]

 

Northern border

Section 4 of the Secure Fence Act directed the secretary of homeland security to conduct a study regarding a security system along the northern border. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the necessity of constructing a system, the feasibility of such a system, and the economic impact it could have along the border.[2]

 

 

 

Customs and Border Patrol authority

Section 5 of the Secure Fence Act directed the secretary of homeland security to evaluate the extent of the authority of Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) to stop vehicles entering the United States illegally and determine whether its authority should be expanded. Under the law, the secretary was also directed to evaluate the use of technology by the CBP to stop vehicles and determine whether such technology should be updated. Finally, the secretary was directed to evaluate the training provided to CBP officers regarding stopping vehicles.[2]

 

Debate

Debate concerning the Secure Fence Act primarily surrounded the construction of 700 miles of border fencing. Questions arose about whether building a fence was ethical, whether it would be effective, and whether it would harm foreign relations with Mexico.

 

Supporters of building the fence argued that the United States, as a sovereign nation, was justified in securing its borders and that doing so would make immigrating to the United States fairer for legal immigrants. They argued that the fence would effectively slow illegal immigration by forcing individuals seeking to cross illegally to attempt to do so in heavily patrolled areas. This extra difficulty would deter more individuals from attempting to cross, proponents contended. In addition, by slowing illegal immigration, supporters argued that the fence would improve national security. It could also improve foreign relations with Mexico as perceived issues with illegal immigration were reduced.[6]

 

Opponents of the fence argued that it would divide communities that exist along the border and possibly cut off some farmers’ access to water. They also argued that the fence would not deter illegal immigration and would instead put border crossers in greater danger by forcing them to cross via treacherous routes. Crossers could also go around, climb over, or dig under the fence, and a fence would not stop illegal entry via the use of falsified documents. Because the fence would not deter illegal immigration, opponents countered that it would also not improve national security and could even incentivize criminals to become more organized. Opponents contended that the fence would worsen foreign relations with Mexico by sending a signal of distrust and an insult to the idea of “good neighbors.”

From what I’ve been reading this 2006 law was seen as the first step in Comprehensive Immigration Reform and the fence portion is at best a “patch job”. Many of the Senators are still in office and have changed their stance on the fence because President Trump wants it built and called it a “Wall”. More importantly there must be legislative reform of the loopholes that allow unfettered access to our borders by those choosing to enter illegally (such as DACA).

 

Other “state actors” have taken advantage of the lack of support and confusion by members of Congress in failing to support President Trump’s vision of a secure southern border. They have financed, organized and/or executed plans for massive waves of invaders in a grand attempt to overwhelm US law enforcement officials at the border.

 

This has been compounded by a number of individuals AND city, county, state and US Legislative Officials who willfully violate US Immigration laws by aiding the unlawful entry of aliens which is a federal offense prosecutable under federal statutes.

 

Another point of contention has been a Presidential Executive Order to stem the tide of immigrants coming into the United States as seen in Title 8 U.S. Code 1182 – Inadmissible aliens (f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President. “Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

 

This brings us to the topic of birthright citizenship as defined by the 14th Amendment which says “[a]ll persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” are citizens”.

 

So contrary to popular belief or what the media and even member of Congress have led us to believe, in 1898 the Supreme Court of the United States laid out the requirements for birthright U.S. citizenship. The first requirement is that a person’s parents must be in this country legally. The second requirement is that they have a legal residence within the United States at the time of their birth. Any person who DOES NOT MEET those 2 requirements IS NOT a citizen of the United States.

 

Citizenship gained under false pretenses can and should be revoked and that person may be deported and those who assisted someone in gaining citizenship falsely may be fined and imprisoned and have their US citizenship revoked and result in their being deported as well. – I am the Real Truckmaster!

My Take on the Constitution of the United States of America

 

Recent discussion and mis-information would lead one to believe that the Constitution is no longer relevant, that it and the symbols of our nation represent slavery. What a load of “bunk”! These so called “legal scholars” are politicians or are simply parroting the rhetoric being openly spread over the media.

Read the entire text of the Constitution of the United States which was written in 1787, ratified in 1788 and has been in operation since 1789. The Preamble to the Constitution begins with three very important words – “We the People” – that affirm the government of the United States exists to serve its citizens.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

 

Contrary to what you may have been told or have heard others say, the government of the United States does not exist for any other purpose, nor does it serve the interests of any other people. The government is not self-serving, nor does it serve the interests of elected or appointed officials.

 

The Constitution was established as the Rule of Law whereby setting the tone and national standards for a more perfect Union to establish Justice while insuring domestic Tranquility, providing for the common defense and promoting the general Welfare and securing the Blessings of Liberty for the Founding Families and their offspring to come.

 

Article I created a Congress, consisting of a Senate and a House of Representatives while insuring the supremacy of the people through their elected officials. The Constitution assigned to Congress the responsibility for organizing the Executive and Judicial Branches of government, raising revenue (taxes), declaring war, and making all laws necessary for executing these powers. That has not changed in over 243 years.

 

Today the Congress has become inflated with complex rules, committees and caucuses that have become so politically charged that the making of laws have ground to a virtual halt. The holders of political power in Congress have become more interested in flexing their political muscles that they interfere with or obstruct the Executive branch and are unable to legislate effectively or efficiently.

 

The Constitution provides for a Presidential veto on certain legislative acts, but Congress has the authority to override presidential vetoes by two-thirds majorities in both houses (House and Senate). The Senate provides for advise and consent on key executive and judicial appointments and on approval for ratification of treaties.

 

This separation and balance of governmental powers is designed to safeguard the interests of majority rule and minority rights, of liberty and equality, and of the federal and state governments. The Constitution is more a concise statement of national principles than a detailed plan of governmental operation. The Constitution has evolved over time to meet the changing needs of a modern society and has been amended 27 times, most recently in 1992. The first ten amendments constitute the Bill of Rights.

One last note on the Constitution, during the initial session of the 1st Congress Representatives were to be chosen every 2 years with terms of 4 years and the Senate for terms of 6 years. Senators were divided into three classes.

Class 1 = terms expired in 2 years,

Class 2 = terms expired in 4 years, and

Class 3 = terms expired in 6 years.

This was by design to insure that it would take three legislative elections to fully change all Representatives and Senators.

 

The pressing issues of national safety and security is all important in today’s society so isn’t it time for Congress to get back into the business of legislating for the American people?  – I am the Real Truckmaster!

For decades, the USWNT has been topping podiums, making waves and racking up hardware as they prove to the rest of the world what grit and greatness looks like. From the team’s first trailblazers who won the very first Women’s World Cup in 1991, to the iconic 99er’s who captured the eyes and hearts of a nation, to the generation inspired by all of the above that now wear the Stars and Stripes with pride—the Women’s National Team is, always has been, and always will be a force to be reckoned with on and off the field of play.

 

I want you to know that it’s not about you, any of you. It is about the nation you represent on and off the field and in your own personal lives. Do you notice that flag next to your name? It’s OUR FLAG, and you represent US, the United States of America.

 

While on vacation recently I watch a couple of your matches and you guys were and are great players, however your attitudes toward your opponents do not represent us, not at all. I was impressed by your wins, but not by your attitude or by the conduct afterwards. You see when you put on the uniform you become the United States personified. You are the US to those who see you. The flag you wear is a representation of us that others know even when words are not spoken.

 

There are some takeaways from what I’ve seen and heard that loudly proclaim who you are individually and as a team.

 

Number one – it is unacceptable and un-sportsmanship to gloat over your opponent while flaunting a victory over them.

 

Number two – it is unconscionable for anyone on a US National Team to disrespect our nation’s flag or our nation’s leader, the President of the United States especially in a public setting representing the team as #15 Megan Rapinoe has done. The best thing she could do is to publicly apologize and withdraw from the team she so badly dishonors.

 

Number three – men and women have often risen to the occasion to defend the US Flag and to prevent it from touching the ground or being trampled underfoot as #5 Kelley O’Hara has done, which shows her true character, loyalty and pride for our nation.

 

As I said earlier it is not about any of you. Once you don the uniform it is about the team, and when you enter the playing field it is ONLY about representing the United States of America while playing hard, fair and treating every opponent with due respect. Immigrants and Refugees

 

The Democratic candidates are stirring up the waters in anticipation of unseating President Trump in the 2020 election. Some of the latest parroted by Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Elizabeth Warren and others include the term refugees. However what they are actually referring to are illegal immigrants who in some cases may be refugees. They say it is our duty to provide housing and medical treatment to these “refugees”. They also say the treatment of detainees is inhumane and barbaric akin to the Nazi concentration camps of World War II. What they don’t tell you is why with all the fuss about refugees they have done absolutely nothing to stop the flow of illegal immigrants across our border. The say that immigration is not a national security issue but a humanitarian issue, I venture to say it is both. However it is inhumane to allow this massive influx of migrants to “bum-rush” our border with the sole purpose of penetrating national security and sovereignty of the United States of which they are key players in creating legislation to fix immigration issues.

 

Before I go any further let me define, in my own words some critical and key terms being thrown around by our esteemed politicians.

 

  1. Immigrants – people desiring to migrate to another country for a better life for themselves and their families.
  2. Refugees – people who apply for refugee status and permission to reside in the United States with a path to citizenship.
  3. Asylum Seekers – people who feel threatened due to religious or political beliefs who seek shelter in the United States away from the threats of their homeland.
  4. Illegal Immigrants – people who cross the border without proper authorization or documentation which is a federal offense.
  5. Law Breakers – people (including legislators and their staff) who aid and assist in the unlawful crossing of aliens into the United States which is also a federal offense.

 

Every candidate in the 2020 presidential election who is a member of Congress is a seasoned politician and it equally responsible for the crisis on the US-Mexico border by either being unwilling or unable to bring forth constructive legislation to close the gaps and fix immigration loopholes. Every candidate who says that President Trump manufactured the immigration crisis is a liar.

 

It is illegal to cross into the United States without documentation and/or authority to enter. It is also illegal for anyone to aid and assist another to cross into the United States illegally. These are federal offenses punishable with fines and/or imprisonment.

 

It is the responsibility of the government of the United States to protect its citizens and territory from harm and/or aggression. The Constitution offers NO guarantees of any kind for those who come here illegally, except to remove them from the United States.

 

Don’t give me that spiel about separating families either. It is a proven and documented fact that many illegal migrants attempt and in some cases are successful in using children, not their own, for the purpose of being allowed into the United States and it is a federal offense to do so. Do we not separate families when we incarcerate criminals or send our military overseas and into battle?

 

The same thing for those who feel we must provide housing, medical and a check to illegal immigrants when we don’t even do that for American citizens in our inner cities and communities across the nation.

Immigration is a privilege of which anyone can apply, but is selectively granted, included refugee and asylum seekers. Everyone should be treated humanely and with respect during their processing and deportation from the United States.

 

Politics should be results oriented so before you cast your vote look at their track record and the disposition of their home district. Is it ruled by law and order or by chaos? If it resembles a 3rd world nation ask – Why? What is being done to put things into an orderly state? Are promises made, promises kept? Do the results justify YOUR vote? – I am the Real Truckmaster!

The Real Progressive

 

According to dictionary.com the adjective form of progressive is favoring or advocating progress, change, improvement, or reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are, especially in political matters. The noun form of progressive is a person who is progressive or who favors progress or reform, especially in political matters. Now let that sink in for a moment.

 

Just based on the above definition one would think they just described President Donald J. Trump and his America First agenda of bringing progressive change to the American workforce (more American factories and thus more jobs). Strengthening the American economy through lower taxes and by demanding the nations of the world pay their own way in NATO and with reciprocating tariffs, for starters. Bringing back American pride that encourages one to “put your money where your mouth is” like that Inspector Tag #12 on a garment that tells who approved this piece of clothing. The Trump agenda has demanded right from day one that Congress conduct Comprehensive Immigration Reform and close any loopholes or blatant errors in the way we conduct immigration. The president has even suggested that Congress go back to the common sense way of conducting business that prevents the current “running in place” where nothing gets done or gets done quickly.

 

Within the House of Representatives there are well over 242 Congressional Caucuses and Committees or Taskforces that determine what gets done and approved by whom? One of the largest is the House’s Democratic Progressive Party Caucus chaired by none other than House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. After the 2016 election Congresswoman Pelosi basically declared her priority was to “Stop Trump”. After the mid-term election and her battle to regain her position as House Speaker that priority was intensified and transmitted through members of the House’s Progressive Caucus.

 

From what I gather in the press briefings, house committee proceedings and flare-ups within the House not only is the priority to “Stop Trump” as pushed by the old guard (Pelosi), but there is a very real and persistent threat to the old guard by some very vocal, but junior freshmen in the House like Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and others who challenge the status quo. I wouldn’t be surprised to see House Democrats voting on a new speaker in the very near future, say after the 2020 elections.

 

That brings another angle into focus virtually all of the Democratic challenging President Trump have pledged to take America back in time to the founding by promoting higher taxes, lots of free stuff and pushing for historical reform through the elimination of our history all together. Statues removed, streets renamed to remove the names of former slave owners. Interestingly enough one of those running for President comes from a family who owned slaves (but then that doesn’t count does it Sen. Harris)?

 

American’s favor immigration when it’s done properly and legally and wonder why Congress has not fixed this issue in the past 50 years or at least began anew after President Trump made his appeal after his inauguration.

 

American’s also favor abstinence or adoption instead of abortion. Abortion robs society of so much potential. Democratic candidates have all signed on to abortion, without considering the future citizens and future voters that are terminated in the abortion clinic. Approve of it or not, abortion is murder plain and simple.

 

The issue of higher taxes by all the Democratic candidates should cause every American to rethink who they should vote for. Raising taxes without curtailing spending is ludicrous and using higher taxes to pay for all the free stuff being promised to Democratic voters is beyond insane.

 

I’m not a political guru or a rocket scientist and not even a brain surgeon, but in my humble opinion the real progressive is President Donald J. Trump for whom results matter. I look forward to another term for POTUS 45. – I am the Real Truckmaster!

Concerning A World Turned Upside Down

 

Jesus when he was tempted used a very important phrase to rebuke the devil, he would say, “It is written” and quoted from the scripture. Jesus was never wrong in doing so, even as he was the “Living Word” and the Son of the living God.

 

Today in 2019 it is equally important in good times as well as bad times rather to lean on our own understanding we too should follow the example Jesus gave and say “It is written” and quote the Word of God over the situation in our lives.

 

We know we are living in the last days because the events of the book of Revelation are happening before our very eyes.

 

2 Timothy 3:1 – 3:5 KJV———–

1… This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2… For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3… Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4… Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5… Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

 

The political climate of the United States is a testament to the fact that when Christians humble themselves before God and pray, God sends forth the answer according to HIS plan and HIS will. In our case God’s plan is not man’s plan because God’s ways are higher than man’s ways.

 

There are many self-righteous people and those who call themselves Christians who have not asked God nor sought his advice in our politics because they are too busy trying to guess what and if God is doing.

 

Looking back over the past 3 years the world of American politics has been knocked down time and time again. It is no longer politics as usual as the deep state, or as President Trump so rightfully called it “the swamp” is falling apart faster than a parachutist without a chute. But believe it or not God has a plan for America and did not choose a “religious leader” type in order to show himself.

 

Anyone familiar with the bible can see that God uses a bit of humor in dealing with his creation – Man. God made a statement in choosing POTUS #45. Keep in mind God can and does everything for a purpose and God choose Isaiah 45 to illustrate that purpose.

 

Now before you go off and scream “Trump’s a lying, low down dirty dealing, filthy rich billionaire playboy who is in love with himself” or some such rantings let me break it to you as gently as I can, Trump is a sinner. Just like you and I. Trump isn’t perfect (Jesus is the only one who was), but Trump is perfect for the job that God has for him at this place and time.

 

We acknowledge that the world has been turned upside down, so what better way to address that topsy-turvy and self-righteous attitude of American politics than to bring a “junkyard dog” scrapper into the White House. God could have brought a Billy Graham type Christian to become the spiritual leader in Washington, but choose instead to bring someone who would wield a sword to take down the spirit of Political Correctness that has taken over this nation and God choose to do it his way (as is his custom).

 

What you and I see happening today is the age old battle of evil pitting itself against good (God). If you have read the end of the book (Revelation) you will find that God won that battle a long time ago on Calvary when Jesus was crucified, died and raised from the dead for the sins of the world (yours and mine), yet the devil wages war until God says enough is enough.

 

It’s not about whether you or I like Donald J. Trump as a real estate developer or as President of the United States. It is God’s opinion that matters. Is Trump doing what God intended? Are the results worthy of God’s approval? Are those results helping to bring others to the salvation knowledge of Jesus Christ? One does not have to wonder, but look at what’s happening across our nation and in the world.

 

It’s not about Trump, but all about Jesus Christ and until God is satisfied this world is in for a roller-coaster ride of epic proportions. In order to have a front row seat one must come to know the master. The bible tells us that if you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and confess your sins you will be saved.

 

Not to be an alarmist but the chaos happening throughout the world is nothing compared to an eternity without God. God is good and without God there can be no good. God is light and when taken from HIS light, there is eternal darkness.

Happy Independence Day

 

July 4th, 1776 is a great milestone in our nation’s history. It is the beginning of a new adventure where men and women joined together in promoting the idea of Freedom with a new form of government – a one of a kind, a Constitutional-Republic.

 

Many American’s today do not understand and take our way of life for granted. The “Me” Generation has been handed everything on a silver platter. Young people of today are content to live in mommy’s basement or with grandma because life’s too hard out there. They are the “Fast Food” generation and too often look to work where they like to eat because it’s fast and easy. They make minimum wage and are content just to complain about having to work there, but take no steps or initiative to better them while facing an industry shifting technology over to replace them. They have become “continual students” racking up student loans while taking college courses that offer no viable path to employment and/or freedom to create their own way in the world. To them this day is just like every other and it sucks to be them. Oh this is not your typical Happy 4th of July letter? I’m sorry but for those stuck in that rut and going to that dead-end job with nothing to look forward to – do something about it! Get outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself to be the best that you can be.

 

Over the years life has been hard in America. Men and women have fought and died so that liberty and freedom could survive, so that you might have the choices you now have today. You don’t have to cross the border or go to a foreign country to see the hopelessness of people living in deplorable conditions. Thanks to the political climate of today many cities have condoned open slums without sanitation. They have allowed the human condition of other countries to take over in American cities, yet nobody seems to care. We have been conditioned to the homeless population among us so much so that until we become homeless ourselves we simply turn away. We have entire populations living on reservations with little to no help of improvement. Shame on us, on America, on the people who simply want to complain and do nothing, America deserves better!

 

Today is July 4th, 2019 it is the anniversary of our nations beginning and independence from the tyranny of others. It is a day to proudly display our nation’s flag, stand to our National Anthem and do what Americans are famous for – Helping our fellow man without regard for skin color, ethnic background or national origin.

 

If you are not proud to be an American maybe it’s time for you to relocate to a land far, far away – just follow the yellow brick road into the land of Oz……… I am the Real Truckmaster!

What Boils Your Blood?

 

Do you consider yourself to be a level headed born and bred American? Do you have a strong sense of right and wrong? Are there things that are just not done that way? What does it take to get you fighting mad? What’s important to you – God; Family; Country; Honor; Respect; or fair play?

 

As a retired military man I can tell you there are usually 3 ways to do just about anything.

  1. There’s the right way, according to procedure, regulation or protocol.
  2. There’s the wrong way, not using or adhering to rule #1.
  3. Then there’s yet another way that just doesn’t work either – Your way.

 

As a supervisor, platoon sergeant or project manager there is nothing more frustrating than having someone trying to wing it and everything just falls apart.

 

It’s no different in the private sector. The company has a set way of operating and it is usually not a good idea to ignore them. You can do things the company way and discover a more efficient or productive way to get the job done to save time, money or man hours. But you don’t just get to change things on your own or you’ll soon find yourself on the outside looking in.

 

There seems to be quite a different approach when it comes to politics. It’s not as much as making things better, safer or efficient. It’s not even about saving money, after all it’s not like it’s their money now is it? Politics seems to be about creating regulations that make it harder for the working class to get things done and make a profit as much as it is about lining ones pockets or padding ones bank account.

 

There are 435 members of the US House of Representatives and 100 members of the US Senate. Granted we have changed out a number of those members during the recent election cycle, but one has only to ask how does a member of Congress become a millionaire or billionaire on a salary of roughly $174,000 per year over a period of 8 years in office?

 

It is even more interesting to discover how many days per year they are actually in the Chambers of Congress, doing what they were sent there to do? Did you know that originally Members of Congress were paid a per diem rate instead of a salary? If they didn’t work, they didn’t get paid. Maybe Congress should go back to per diem?

 

There are a number of issues that Congress should be dealing with today, like getting everybody working and off of public assistance; making it cost effective for folks crossing over the border illegally; national security; cybersecurity; tariffs and a host of other problems like souring crime across the nation; homelessness and lawlessness running amuck.

 

There are rogue gangs and entities making it their job to enforce their values on American citizens in various cities and doing so with impunity. The basic Rule of Law prohibits killing, robbing, assaulting and causing chaos (for starters). US Law Enforcement agencies are mandated to enforce the laws and are being unlawfully ordered to stand down or told not to cooperate with federal agencies and this is wrong. We see reporters falsely reporting manufactured news, while others become the news because they are reporting what is happening.

 

There are organized groups, organizations and possibly foreign nations financing and enabling the assault on our southern border using every means at their disposal while attacking the very sovereignty of our nation.

 

Our nation’s public schools are a mess leaving our students not even able to function when they reach adulthood. Institutions of higher learning are nothing more than brainwashing facilities where degrees are meaningless and graduates encounter the heavy burden of repayment, yet are unable to find employment in their chosen fields of study.

 

That being said what are members of Congress really concerned with? What do they put all their energy into? What is their focus? – Stopping Trump!

 

Oh come on, really?

 

The time is rapidly approaching where men and women will stand firm against evil, but it cannot be done on their own, without Almighty God. He alone is the answer.

 

So back to my original question, what makes you fighting mad? What will it take before you stop standing in the shadows and move forward, arm-in-arm as one entity standing tall for Freedom, Democracy and for the very soul of America? – I am the Real Truckmaster!
